Alchemy Market and Wine Bar in historic downtown Murphys has recently undergone a change of ownership. This favorate of locals and visitors alike since 2001 has been purchased by Jason Wright, a graduate of the California Culinary Academy and former Executive Chef of two award-winning Carmel restaurants. While maintaining the level of freshness and innovation that has made Alchemy a success, Jason plans to incorporate many of the recipes and ideas that he has learned through many hard years as a chef and restaurant owner.
The cuisine is innovative Modern American, with a leaning towards “comfort foods with a twist” and value. Alchemy features a wide variety of Sierra Foothills wines and American microbrewed beer and specializes in pairing wine and beer with food.
