Murphys, CA....Calaveras County haeld the pleasure of holding a "Listening Session" with Dan Lungren last week. This event was held at Ironstone Vineyards and hosted by the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance. Congressman Lungren has accepted a position on the Congressional Wine Caucus. This was an opportunity to speak with the Congressman. The session was open to the public and everyone was welcome. There was a wide range of business centric topics discussed. The video runs about an hour and 25 minutes. Patrick Works recorded the entire meeting if you would like to follow along...

Murphys, CA.....IRISH DAY will take place thisSaturday, March 19th from 10am - 5pm. One of the premiere annual events in the Mother Lode is Murphys Irish Day. Each year thousands of people from Northern California and beyond gather in the historic gold rush town of Murphys to honor its Celtic heritage and to celebrate as only the Irish can. A recipe is born....Melanie brings a raw and luscious earthiness into her kitchen while imbuing her creations with her love of eastern cultures and her southern heritage, her menu can include tandori rubs and cajun fries. When I try one of Scott's wines for the first time, I close my eyes....and then smell and then taste. My mind is flooded with flavors that would be a perfect match and then I begin to concoct a recipe in my head. Widely recognized as one of the most creative chefs in the Calaveras region, Melanie now runs Newsome- Harlow’s tasting room and heads up the food program, designing pairing dinners that incorporate fresh, local ingredients to highlight her husband’s artisan wines. Melanie is also one of the top yoga teachers in the county.....

Ironstone Winery Featured in New Episode of Road Trip with Huell Howser Titled "Mother Lode" Sierra Foothills!

Murphys, CA.....On Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 8:00pm, “Mother Lode”, a new episode of the series Road Trip with Huell Howser will debut on KVIE, Sacramento’s public television station as well as KVPT in Fresno and KOCE in Los Angeles. Huell travels to the historic Gold Rush region of the Sierra Foothills visiting must-see locations throughout Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. While in Calaveras County, Howzer visits Ironstone Winery and entertainment complex touring the 14 acres of landscaped gardens and tasting room complete with an oak bar that came from A.J. Bumps Saloon in Freeport. Built in 1907 by the New Brunswick Bowling Ball Company in New York, the tasting room bar sailed around Cape Horn to its original location, at the saloon, and found its way to Ironstone in 1992. ....
