Convert Your Front Yard to a Garden and Use Water-Wise Plants! ~ Amador County Master Gardeners

Jackson, CA...Forty million acres here in the United States are devoted to turf grass, an area almost the size of the country of Greece. We irrigate these lawns with an estimated two trillion gallons of water each year, which is three times greater than the amount of water used on the nationʼs cornfields. Here on the West Coast alone, 60% of our water use goes toward watering lawns. Monetary costs for keeping these residential green carpets weed and pest free are staggering with an estimated $25 billion spent annually, much of it to spread 70 million tons of fertilizers and pesticides.
Columbia, CA... On April 20, 2012, the Calaveras County Garden Club will have their meeting at "Bel Giardino" located at 22890 Mount Holly Lane, Columbia.

Murphys, CA...We would like to thank Rob Westerhoff for advertising on ThePineTree.net. A little bit about Rob from his website....I'm a sole proprietor architect operating out of Murphys, CA. I have been a state licensed architect since 1989 and opened my own practice in 2008. I do projects throughout Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties and beyond. I can provide you with a simple set of drawings to get through the building department if you are going to build it yourself; or if you need fully detailed drawings for contractors to bid from. As a licensed architect I can also provide design and construction documents for commercial properties. I can provide assessments for Americans with Disability Act for your commercial property; which can include a Transition Plan and construction documents for corrections as needed. I will take on small projects like a simple deck cover or garage; difficult projects like a complicated residential remodel or commercial tenant improvement....

If your deck is more than 10 years old, or if it was built by an unlicensed person or a homeowner, be sure to watch this short YouTube video that demonstrates what can happen when a deck is not properly built....
