Deborah Ann Dillashaw Wood 1956 - 2014 |

Angels Camp, CA...Deborah Ann Dillashaw Wood, 57, went home to be with the Lord January 30, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. She passed in her home with her sons and husband by her side. Debbie was a beloved Mother, Noni, Wife, Daughter, Sister and Aunt. Debbie was a lifetime resident of Angels Camp, where she worked as a manager for two local grocers and then Bergantz Nursery. At 35 she went back to school to become a CNA and worked for Hospice for a few years. She is survived by her sons Jeremy (Alicia) Wood and Jon Wood, granddaughter Mazie Anne Wood, husband Jim Wood, mother-in-law Ruth Wood, brother Jim (Krista) Dillashaw all of Angels Camp, and nephews Travis (Kaylee) Dillashaw of Murphys, and Jacob, Jayton and Tanner Dillashaw of Angels Camp. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Shirley Dillashaw and her father-in-law Leotice “Woody” Wood...

Thefts and Vandalism At PG&E Yard |

| Angels Camp, CA....On 02/03/2014 at approximately 7:45 am, an Angels Camp Police Officer responded to the PG&E yard, located at 1108 Murphys Grade Road, for a stolen vehicle and burglary report. The thefts occurred sometime between Friday, January 31st at 5:00 pm to Monday, February 3, 2014 at 7:45 am. A 2013 Dodge Ram pickup truck with “TGR Helicopters” decals on the front doors, tools, flashlights, an aircraft seat cushion, a helicopter part, a laptop, and a television were stolen. In addition to the stolen items, five PG&E trucks were vandalized. Total loss was estimated to be over $35,000.... |

Angels Camp, CA....Rex Payton of Angels Camp, passed away on 1/27/14. He was born on 11/04/41 to Leah Crumly Payton and Chester Payton in Watseka, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Jac (Jaci) Elaine McCutchan Payton; his son Benjamin Payton (Vicky) of Marina, CA; his daughter Brenda Jones (Darren) of Angels Camp, CA; his sister Marguerite Payton Rose and nephew Dean Rose, both of Texas; six grandchildren: Sesar and Nick Sanchez, Jordan Payton, Katie Smith, Travis Rankin, and Tim Jones; his wifes brother and sister-in-law Jim & Pat McCutchan of Murphys, CA. Rex attended elementary school and high school in Sheldon, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated in 1963 with a B.S. degree in Forestry. On 1/27/63 he married his high school sweetheart Jaci. They moved to Calaveras County in July 1963 where Rex began his career with the U.S. Forest Service....

Angels Camp, CA...The 7th Annual Classic Car Show will take place at Utica Park, Angels Camp, Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 3-9pm. Awards will be given in various car categories and vendors will be on site. Plenty of food will be available too!

Wife of Darwin Guidi who died in 2009, and Mother of Four Children: Daughter-Jeannette (George) Bennett of Angels Camp; Sons- Michael (Raquel) Guidi of Hathaway Pines, CA; Jim Guidi of Sacramento; and Richard (Barbara) Guidi of Denver, Colorado. Alice was a lifelong resident of California and worked as a secretary for the State of California for over 40 years. She spent the last 15 years living in Angels Camp, CA..
