Destination Angels Camp Adds 4 New Corporate Sponsors

Angels Camp, March 1, 2014: - Destination Angels Camp Development Corporation has added four more local companies to its Community Advisory Council: Gold Electric, Round Table Pizza, Collins Development and The Chicken Barn. The Advisory Council now has 18 companies and individuals that have agreed to sponsor Destination Angels Camp’s activities with a minimum of $1,000 a year for three years for a total to date of $22,000 a year....

ACBA Announces New Board And Officers

Angels Camp, March 1, 2014:- The Angels Camp Business Association (ACBA) has installed three new board members and elected its officers for 2014. ACBA President Sherri Smith announced that Jenny Baxter, Pat Gulyas and Brett Keller have been elected to 2-year terms on the board of directors. Once the new board members were installed, the full board elected its officers to serve until June 30th 2015. Continuing in their positions are President Sherri Smith, owner of CAMPS Restaurant, and Secretary Pam Kulm. New officers are Jenny Baxter, vice president, and Anne Forrest, treasurer. The board also agreed on a new slogan for the Association: “Active Community Businesses Aligned for a Better Angels Camp.”

Minor Injuries in Morning BMW Off Roading Mishap

Angels Camp, CA....On 02/28/14, at approximately 0804 hours, San Andreas Area CHP was dispatched to a traffic collision involving a BMW that had driven off the roadway and overturned on SR-49 south of Carson Hill. The roadway was wet, and although it was not raining at the time of the collision, intermittent rain had been occurring throughout the morning. The driver caused this collision by driving at an unsafe speed for the weather and roadway conditions, namely, attempting to negotiate a curved portion of roadway at 45 to 50 MPH with the roadway surface being wet. The driver lost control of his vehicle, spun out of control, and traveled down a steep embankment, overturning several times before coming to rest...
