Arnold, CA...Stop by Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Cat Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market, open Thurs. through Sat., 10 am–5 pm (Phone 209-795-GIVE). Calli will be there to meet you, along with other lovable kitties! We will also have kitties available at our Angels Camp Adoption Center, located in Angels Town Center (240 S. Main St./Hwy 49), open Thurs. through Sat., 11 am–5 pm. Come in and meet some wonderful kitty companions!

Fair Opens Up Outhouse Competition |

Frogtown, USA...During the 2014 CCPRA Rodeo the Calaveras County Fair had an Outhouse race against the Amador County Fair. The Calaveras County Fair was victorious. So this year, we are opening the competition up to other organizations and businesses. In addition to bragging rights, there is prize money, 1st pays $300, 2nd $200 and 3rd pays$100. (Note: business entries will be required to donate their prize to a charity of their choice) For entry forms and more information visit frogtown.org.

San Andreas, CA...The 2015 Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will be back in action next Tuesday. Some of the agenda items are:Approve amendments to Conflict of Interest Codes for Vallecito Union School District. Adopt a Resolution approving the Second Amended and Restated Central Sierra Economic Development District Joint Powers Agreement and authorizing the Board Chair to sign on behalf of the County. Receive the 2014 Annual Report of the Calaveras County Fish & Game Commission. Adopt a Resolution supporting CALNET Broadband projects in Calaveras County. These items and many more will be discussed next Tuesday along with the every exciting public comments section of the meeting. The full agenda is enclosed....
