Angels Camp, CA...New Melones Lake is currently holding 599,420 acre-feet of water. The lake level dropped a little bit this last week. It is currently at 878 ft. above sea level and 201 ft. from full. The water clarity is fairly clear in most of the lake with a few areas having some stained water. The water temperature is stable and has warmed slightly with the average being 56-62 degrees. Tuttletown launch is closed. Glory Hole Point boat launch is open with a two lane concrete ramp and a dock. 4wd is no longer needed to launch....

San Andreas, CA...56 projects were entered in the 30th Annual Calaveras County Science Fair, and of those 56 projects, our Science Fair judges selected winners from grades 4th – 8th and High School. The judges then selected two students to move on to participate in the 64th Annual California State Science Fair presented by the California Science Center. The State Fair will be held on Monday and Tuesday, May 18-19, 2015 located at the California Science Center located in Exposition Park, just south of downtown Los Angeles...

Angels Camp, CA...Adrian Ramorini passed away at age 65 on Tuesday March 3, 2015 in his home at Clovis, California surrounded by family and friends after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Adrian was born in Lodi ,California on November 26, 1949. He grew-up in Angels Camp ,California where he attended Mark Twain Elementary school. Following his graduation from Mark Twain he attended Bret Harte High School and graduated in 1968. Adrian was drafted into the United States Army on August 14, 1969. He served honorably in the United States Army and was deployed on a tour of duty to Chu Lai and surrounding areas in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge in 1975. He lived his life as a dedicated patriot to the United States of America...

Angels Camp & Rail Road Flat, CA...Henry J. Sweeney, 82, died March 11, 2015 at his home in Angels Camp. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, his wife Margaret, and his daughter Patricia Lynn Sweeney. Henry is survived by his wife Dodie Sweeney, son Michael Henry Sweeney, son-in-law Michael Lee Sweeney, and grandchildren Kelli and Tyler. Henry was born on September 24, 1932 in Brawley, Ca. From his early years Henry always enjoyed helping others. He found his true passion in pursuing the Lord's work and followed that passion In 1954 when Henry attended Multnomah School of the Bible in Portland, Oregon to work towards becoming a pastor and missionary for the Lord. Henry was a home missionary for the American Sunday School Union then a youth pastor in New Mexico. Henry was able to use the wonderful gifts he had been given through his work in the church and on the mission field to pursue his love of helping others through the Lord's work. Henry went on to pastor churches in Indian Hills, Co, San Luis Obispo, Ca, Victorville, Ca, and Rail Road Flat, Ca. Henry was always faithful to minister and stayed true to his faith in the Lord until the day of his death. He was a sweet, loving man who dedicated his life to God, his family, and friends...
