Angels Camp, May 8, 2015 – Following new ownership and a complete remodel, the New Melones Lake Marina, 6503 Glory Hole Road, south of Angels Camp, will host a Grand Opening celebration Friday, May 22, starting at 5 p.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Supervisor Debbie Ponte begins at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments and Newsome Harlow wines will be served. Angels Camp, CA...Over the course of Fair & Frog Jump Weekend we took almost 5,000 photos. We have been sorting and now they will start to appear. 2015 brought another great Youth Parade. Sissy Hedrick from Sissy's Bella Spa was the 2015 Parade Grand Marshall. We try to have these posts as a rolling archive of events. Of the parade we have almost 300 photos and video in regular and HD versions.

DUI Saturation Patrol Nets 6 DUI Arrests |

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Police Department conducted DUI Saturation Patrol on May 14th through May 17, 2015. Six DUI arrests were made. On May 16, 2015 at approximately 8:15 PM, an Angels Camp Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on Bush Street near Utica Lane for failure to stop at a stop sign. The driver was identified as 46 year old Angels Camp resident, Rodney Oconnor. Oconnor was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and arrested. He was booked in to the Calaveras County Jail for 23152(a) CVC- DUI Alcohol, and 23152(b) CVC – DUI Blood Alcohol Concentration .08% or more...

O.A.R.S. Pledges $150K in Money and Trips to Get Kids into National Parks |

ANGELS CAMP, CA, May 19, 2015 – Veteran river outfitter and adventure travel company, O.A.R.S., has introduced a new program to help open up the great outdoors for kids around the country. Starting this year, O.A.R.S. will donate one percent of company sales to the National Park Foundation—the official charity of America’s national parks—for trips operated in Arches & Canyonlands National Parks, Crater Lake National Park, Dinosaur National Monument, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park and for the company’s new hiking trips in Grand Canyon National Park.

Frogtown, USA...Today is the final day of the Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jump Jubilee. The International Frog Jump Finals, Livestock Auction and the Destruction Derby. Today has traditionally the largest audience draw of the fair. So grab your lawn chairs and pick out your spot on the hill and have a great day at the Fair!!
