Murphys, CA...Angels Camp Veterinary Celebrates Dr. Grover's Retirement and New Ownership of Mother Lode Veterinary, Friday, June 26th at 5:00pm. The Angels Camp Veterinarian Hospital will host a Grand Opening to celebrate the retirement of Veterinarian Douglas Grover and the group's acquisition of Mother Lode Veterinary Hospital. The community is invited to the red-ribbon cutting ceremony commencing at 5pm with a BBQ to follow. Motherlode Veterinary Hospital is located at 382 Highway 4 in Murphys across from Feeney Park.

Angels Camp, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store/Cat Adoption Center in Angels Camp, located in Angels Town Center at 240 S. Main St./Hwy 49. New summer hours for the Angels Camp Adoption Center are Thurs/Fri, 10 am–5 pm, and Saturday, 11 am–5pm. This week, in addition to Ladybug, we will have several others kitties available too--and guest cats from Calaveras County Animal Services will be available for adoption through CHS in Angels Camp as well. As always, we will also have kitties available at our Arnold Adoption Center, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market, open Thurs.-Sat., 10am to 5pm. Come in and meet the kitties!

Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Drum Circle & Angels Camp Library Friends Join Forces for Local Youth Reading Club Celebrating the launch of the Angels Camp library Summer Reading Program, the Calaveras Drum Circle and volunteers with the Angels Camp Friends of the Library will “Read to the Rhythm” on Sunday, June 28th at Utica Park starting at 4 pm. Each summer, the local library in Angels Camp (at 426 N Main St) signs up youngsters from pre-school through 8th grade to read as many books as they can over the 8-week summer holiday. As of last week, more than 25 local children had signed up at the local library.

Angels Camp, CA...Party #1 was driving Vehicle #1 in the Eastbound traffic lane of State Route 4 at approximately 65MPH. Party #2 was driving Vehicle #2 in the Westbound traffic lane of State Route 4 at approximately 55MPH. P-1, due to his unsafe speed, allowed V-1 to travel left of the left of the solid double yellow center line while attempting to negotiate a natural curve in the roadway to his right. P-2 observed V-1 approaching him within P-2’s traffic lane and applied his brakes forcefully.

Angels Camp, CA...Joanie Cooke, 74, passed away peacefully in her home on June 5, 2015 after a long illness. Joanie was born in Martinez, California to Patricia and Clarence Clinkscale. Though Joanie was a long-time resident of Concord, CA she resided in Angels Camp the last seven years of her life.
