Sacramento, CA...California actually has a government spending limit, hard as that may be to believe, and Gavin Newsom is making a mockery of it, just as his predecessor did. In 1979, a year after signing off on the revolutionary Proposition 13, voters passed Proposition 4, implementing the “Gann Limit,” which would peg California’s state spending to the 1978-79 level and only let it grow adjusted for inflation and population. State revenues above the voter-approved limit can be reckoned with several different ways, including refunding half of the excess revenues to taxpayers, with the other half going to schools.

Governor Newsom’s Plan expands the state’s COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant program to a total of $4 billion, representing the largest such program in the entire country. That’s in addition to Governor Newsom’s $6.2 billion tax cut for those businesses hit hardest by the pandemic, the largest state tax cut of its kind in history.

Amador COVID-19 Update

Amador County, CA... Amador County Public Health reports 6 more cases of COVID-19 since last Tuesday’s update, bringing the total laboratory confirmed case count to 1,776. The new cases include 2 males and 4 females, 1 aged 18-49, 3 aged 50-64, 2 over 65 years of age; 2 residents of Jackson, 3 living in Plymouth, and 1 in Sutter Creek/Amador City. The Amador COVID-19 statistics dashboard is now updated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Colonial Pipeline continues to make forward progress in our around-the-clock efforts to return our system to service, with additional laterals operating manually to deliver existing inventories to markets along the pipeline. Markets experiencing supply constraints and/​or not serviced by other fuel delivery systems are being prioritized.
