LIVESTRONG Texas 4000 Visits the Land of The Frogs

Angels Camp, CA... Gracing our Frogtown camping area are the riders of the LIVESTRONG Texas 4000, fighting cancer every mile. This team of young college age bicycle riders are on their way to Anchorage, Alaska. They came through Yosemite today and with a 6 a.m. wakeup call they will be headed North to Alaska in the morning. Over $300k Raised at Fair Livestock Auction for 2013

Frogtown, CA...In another great display of community support and work ethic of our youth. The 2013 Calaveras County Fair Livestock Auction raised over 300k. We finally have over two hours of video from the event and photos as well. Great job and congratulations everyone!!!

Frogtown, CA....During the fair we tried to post as many photos and articles as we could as May comes to a close however we thought we would post the last batches of photos from this year. It was a great fair. Attendence ticked up just a bit from last year and the youth livestock auction brought in a stunning amount of over $300k again this year. Many years it is the second largest grossing youth auction after the State Fair...

Angels Camp, CA....The Tower Family was honored for their contributions at the ribbon cutting ceremony to get the fair officially underway on Thursday. Local veterans were also honored with quilts. We have video and photos from Lydia Stafford as well....

Angels Camp, CA...(Update We now have the complete Frog Jump Finals Video posted below. Over two hours) No it isn't a typo we shot over 1,000 frames at the Frog Jump Finals. The shots show how committed the jockeys are to spur the frogs on to greatness. And yes they are launching themselves towards the frogs on cement with just a bit of indoor outdoor carpet. Many, many, many duplicates as at the finals we usually shoot in bursts to get a few shots of each contestant and jump. The ones below have been cropped and we will be cropping and editing down many more for publicly acceptable shots. We have uploaded these at a 1024 x 768 resolution so if you were an entrant you will have a little larger image to play with for your own amusement...

Angels Camp, CA...(Update Riley Kitchell jockeying "SHHH! Don't Tell Morgan" takes the 2013 Frog Jump Finals with a jump of 20' 10". If that name sounds familiar it should as Riley Kitchell is the son of last year's winner Laura Kitchell. Laura also took second in this year's jump with a 19' 4" jump with "Slip Sliding Away", Caitlin Kitchell with "Das Tater Nater" hopped into third for an all Kitchell top three!! Lisa Fasano with "Green Frogs and Ham" hopped into the forth spot. It was the first win for the Foothill Froggers. Great job everyone!!! Lots of photos and video to come!!) The Celebrated Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County will take center stage for the Frog Jump Finals in a contest that made Calaveras County famous with Mark Twains story. Will "Rosie the Ribiter's" record jump of 21ft 5 3/4inches hold for another year. Last year's winner Laura Kitchell had a jump of over 21ft in qualifying so we will see what she can bring to the final!! We will be webcasting and also recording the finals with a separate camera for replay as well. We would like to thank our sponsors!
