The Lode Hotel, Does Angels Camp Want to Help Preserve History or Destroy it? ~ Tim Ashlock

Angels Camp, CA...Hope springs eternal must have been my frame of mind when the Lode hotel was purchased by me in 2002. The flamboyant history of what the place has meant to so many and the building echoing all the past lives it had lived (see history below article prepared by historian) was especially enthralling to me. The hotel stands very close to the major gold mines and was a central place for miners to live and work while gold fever was running rampant in City of Angels Camp. More recently, the building was deemed not in livable condition according to the City of Angels and therefore the low income housing it had long provided to many of the less fortunate was shut down. My understanding is the former owner spent years fighting for the Lode's survival only to lose it in a fight similar to mine

Gross Domestic Product: Second Quarter Revised Up to 4.2% as Economy Rolls On

Washington, DC...Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018 (table 1), according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 2.2 percent. The GDP estimate released today is based on more complete source data than were available for the "advance" estimate issued last month. In the advance estimate, the increase in real GDP was 4.1 percent. With this second estimate for the second quarter, the general picture of economic growth remains the same; the revision primarily reflected upward revisions to nonresidential fixed investment and private inventory investment that were partly offset by a downward revision to personal consumption expenditures (PCE). Imports which are a subtraction in the calculation of GDP, were revised down. (see "Updates to GDP" on page 2).
Inside Out Designs is Here to Help Your Interior Design Dreams Come True

Sonora, CA...I have a passion for design and home improvement, and am committed to providing quality design services at prices that suit the budget of my clients. I don’t have an unlimited budget for my house, and suspect you don’t either, so my goal is to design your home just as I have my own ~ getting the maximum results, at the best possible price! Having a General Contractor and Master Cabinet Maker for a father, I grew up around design and construction. I learned many skills from him over the years, and something was always being remodeled in our house! I worked in high-tech through the 1980’s, but then decided to switch gears and work in the family business when I wanted to have my second child. Working side-by-side with my father, I was the Office Manager in his business for 10 years, but also gained extensive knowledge of cabinetry design, construction, materials and hardware. At that time, I was also remodeling my first home (room by room), and was bitten by the design bug, so headed back to school to receive an Interior Design Certificate from U.C. Santa Cruz.
President Trump in Phone Call with President Peña Nieto of Mexico on the United States-Mexico Trade Agreement

Washington, DC... Hello everybody. It’s a big day for trade, a big day for our country. A lot of people thought we’d never get here because we all negotiate tough. We do, and so does Mexico. And this is a tremendous thing. This has to do — they used to call it NAFTA. We’re going to call it the United States-Mexico Trade Agreement, and we’ll get rid of the name NAFTA. It has a bad connotation because the United States was hurt very badly by NAFTA for many years. And now it’s a really good deal for both countries, and we look very much forward to it.
