San Andreas, CA...After four years of leading the Calaveras County Water District as general manager, Dave Eggerton announced today he is taking a new job with the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) as executive director designate starting November 1. ACWA is the largest statewide coalition of public water agencies in the country with about 450 public agency members collectively responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California.

Washington, DC...Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 4.2 percent in the second quarter of 2018 (table 1), according to the "third" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In the first quarter, real GDP increased 2.2 percent. The GDP estimate released today is based on more complete source data than were available for the "second" estimate issued last month. In the second estimate, the increase in real GDP was also 4.2 percent. With this third estimate for the second quarter, the general picture of economic growth remains the same; a downward revision to private inventory investment was offset by small upward revisions to most other GDP components.

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Calaveras County Association of Realtors hosted a Candidate’s Debate Night for Supervisorial and Sheriff Candidates. This event took place on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Bret Harte Theatre located at 323 South Main Street in Angels Camp. Candidates were available for a Meet and Greet at 5:00pm followed by the debate from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Supervisorial candidates participated in a debate format while the Sheriff candidate participated in a Q&A.
