New Multi-County Effort Offers Free Resources to Help Build ADUs |

Amador, Calaveras Counties, CA...Several counties in California are teaming up to make it easier for residents to add accessory dwelling units (ADUs) to their properties. Mother Lode ADU is a new partnership between the Counties of Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, and Nevada created to help homeowners in the region build an ADU. A new website at www.motherlodeadu.org will go live on Aug. 30, which will serve as a one-stop resource shop.

Local Man Loses Home in Lightning Strike Fire |

Dorrington, CA...Hi, my name is Tom Sweeney one of the owners of the Lube Room Saloon and Dorrington Hotel. During the lightning strikes one of our very own Larry Tomovic "Lube Room Larry" completely lost his house on August 22, 2023, at 10:00 due to a lightning strike. Fortunately, he was able to make it out safely but with only a pair of jeans, slippers, shirt and a few photos. Everything was lost. I’ve never done a go fund me before but I know he will be pissed off at me for asking for help. Larry has never asked for help from anyone but always there to help others. I'm hoping this email reaches as many people as possible so that we can give back to a very special guy. Thanks, from our entire Lube Room family.

Arnold, CA...The Howard Family has been serving great pizza and providing great jobs at the Locally Owned and Operated Round Table Pizza in Arnold for over a generation. They lost their lease on their Arnold Round Table Location but that doesn't mean you still can't have your Round Table Pizza fix. If you are on your way up the hill your favorite pizzas and more can be waiting for you to pick up in Angels Camp.
