Most Attended Annual Math Mini Bowl Equals Success |

San Andreas, CA...Fifth and sixth grade students from all over Calaveras County gathered on May 9 at the 42nd Annual Math Mini Bowl (MMB). A total of 139 students from 10 schools attended the event. This MMB consists of three different competitions, challenging students to flex their math skills. This year’s event was the highest attended math bowl to date. All countywide student events, including the Math Mini Bowl, are operated by the Calaveras County Office of Education (CCOE).

Bear Valley, CA...During the winter season, Bear Valley Adventure Company offers both a groomed sledding and a separate groomed tubing area. Both activities have several fun runs, picnic tables, and benches. We recommend these activities for ages 3 and older. Hot food and drinks are available nearby at the Meadow Cafe. These areas are not lift-serviced and required hiking up the hills; we think it’s part of the adventure ;-).

Sacramento, CA...State Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil sponsored Frog Jumpers from around the State to jump at the State Capitol on May 5. The Senator was joined by fellow lawmakers, members of the media, and staffers from the Assembly and State Senate. Senate District 4 is home to the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee, which will be held May 18th-21st at Frogtown in Angeles Camp.
