Columbia Man Arrested In Death Of His Wife

Columbia, CA...Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Detective’s arrested Robert Presson today on charges of 187 (A) PC; homicide. It is believed Presson murdered his 58 year old wife Jeane Presson earlier in July of this year. Presson originally notified Law Enforcement that Jeane was missing on July 25th. Her husband reported that she had walked away from their residence in Columbia six days prior. On August 7th while investigating the missing person’s case, Jeane Presson’s body was discovered in an area off of Springfield Road in Columbia.

Groveland Man Arrested For Elder Abuse

Groveland, CA...On 11/24/15, a Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputy investigated a report of a suspected elder abuse case, which occurred earlier in the evening on 11/23/15. The deputy met with the 69 year old victim, who said she was pushed to the ground by her son. As a result of being pushed to the ground, she sustained an injury to her wrist. The victim denied medical attention but was later treated at a local hospital for a fractured wrist.

Home Burglary, Vehicle Stolen & Crashed Into Patrol Vehicles, Suspect Arrested

Columbia, CA...On 11/23/2015 in the early morning hours, a homeowner in Columbia reported that he was asleep in his home when he heard a noise downstairs. Upon checking on the noise, he discovered someone was inside attempting to burglarize the residence. The homeowner contacted the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office and deputies responded to the scene. The suspect; later identified as Brandon Scott Nelson, stole the homeowners vehicle from the attached garage and while attempting to escape from the scene of the burglary, drove it into two fully marked, occupied patrol vehicles.

Angels Camp PD K-9 Association Seeking Help To Replace Kain

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Police Department K-9 Association is requesting some assistance from the community, to replace a valued member of the Angels Camp PD team. As previously mentioned in an earlier press release, police service dog Kain passed away on 10-30-15.

Sonora, CA...The Sonora Police Department is attempting to locate anyone who may have been stopped by, or witnesses someone being stopped by, a person acting to be an authority figure, who was not wearing any type of uniform. A male subject was operating a white, older, Isuzu Trooper, SUV, with out of state plates, and was stopping motorists. Photos of the actual vehicle have been posted with this release. The subject driving the vehicle stopped at least one vehicle we know of, on Sanguinetti Road. This vehicle was a smaller white BMW or Volvo sedan. It’s possible other vehicles were stopped during the last few days by this same person, while driving the vehicle shown in the photo..

Sonora Police Searching For White Female Bank Robber

Sonora, CA...On 16 November 2015, at approx. 4:05 pm, officers from the Sonora Police Department responded to Wells Fargo Bank located at 808 Mono Way for a reported robbery which had just occurred. It was determined a white female entered the bank, then presented a demand note to a bank tell. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money from the teller, the suspect exited the bank through the north doors and into the parking lot. It is unknown which direction the suspect fled after reaching the parking lot.

Soulsbyville, CA...A Soulsbyville woman backed her 2001 BMW into a Soulsbyville man who was sitting on her rear bumper. He suffered abrasions to his hands and arms. He also complained of pain to his ribs and hip. She was not injured....

Copperopolis, CA...Under the coordination of Acting Sgt. Ed Evans, Lt. Ed Anderson, Sgt. Ralph Carlascio, Sgt. Aurora Weatherby, David Aguilar, Louis Chiu, Kathy Martin, Ron Parker and Rudy Silberbauer of the Calaveras County Sheriff Volunteer Unit provided traffic control at the Veteran's Day Parade in Copperopolis Wednesday. The Parade was well attended by local residents and out of town visitors under beautiful weather. Everyone who attended the Parade shared the patriotic spirit in remembrance of the sacrifices made by all veterans.

Inmate Death at Kern Valley State Prison Being Investigated as Homicide

Delano, CA...The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is investigating as a potential homicide the death of an inmate Wednesday morning at Kern Valley State Prison (KVSP). Inmate Gustavo Vital, 34, was found unresponsive in his cell at 1:50 a.m. Nov. 11. Staff immediately began lifesaving measures, and an ambulance was called. Vital succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:20 a.m. Nov. 11. His next-of-kin has been notified.

Fugitive Willis Arrested In Salida

Sonora, CA...Joshua Jeff Willis is behind bars at the Tuolumne County jail this morning on several felony charges following his arrest in Stanislaus County last night. Following a tip, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Deputies surrounded a Salida area motel and captured Willis as he attempted to flee out a rear bathroom window.
