Murphys, CA...Huge thank you to Calaveras County Sheriff's department for apprehending a home invasion criminal in Murphys today! If Brad Button, Mark Miles and John Roscelli had not chased him down he may have evaded the officers for hours. To all the locals who stopped to help catch and spot the guy in the creek, you are all awesome!

Sonora, CA...15 July 2016, two subjects were arrested on several charges relating to the passing of counterfeit bills, conspiracy, and burglary. These activities were called to the Sonora Police Department’s attention when an employee from Carl’s Jr. reported that a male and a female attempted to purchase a milkshake using a counterfeit $20 bill. When the transaction was rejected, the two left the business and got into an awaiting cab. The employee was able to provide a detailed description of both subjects to police. A Sonora Police Officer arrived shortly after the call was made to the Police Department and saw the two seated in a cab attempting to leave the area. Both subjects matched the descriptions given by the Carl’s Jr. employee, and the officer noticed that the female was making suspicious movements attempting to avoid detection.
CHP San Andreas Hosts Teen Driving Classes July 25th & 26th

San Andreas, CA...The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions, (According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and the CHP’s goal is to reduce the death rate among teenagers as the result of these collisions. In order to address this alarming trend, the CHP developed a program called Start Smart. Start Smart is aimed at helping newly licensed and future licensed teenage drivers understand the critical responsibilities of driving and to understand that accidents do happen, but collisions are 100 percent preventable.

Los Angeles, CA...California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) special agents apprehended inmate Daniel Perez, 34, Monday morning, approximately eight days after he was discovered missing from the minimum security Baseline Conservation Camp in Jamestown, Tuolumne County...
Twain Harte, CA...Search efforts are still on going this morning. Search and Rescue along with a helicopter remain in the area searching for Benaiah. There has been cell phone activity (data usage) on his account as early as this morning. SAR is working with the cellphone company to determine if it is actual usage or an automated situation. His family says he is familiar with the area and left with water and fishing poles. We will continue to post updates as they come in.
Three Police Officers Dead, Three Injured in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge, LA...Three officers are confirmed dead and three others wounded after a shooting in Baton Rouge, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said Sunday. One suspect is dead and law enforcement officials believe two others are still at large, the spokeswoman said. (July 17)
Angels Camp, CA...On July 11th, 2016 at approximately 11:35 PM an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a window tint infraction, near the intersection of N. Main Street and Dogtown Road. While the officer was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle he was informed by the driver that his driver license was suspended and that he possibly had an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Placer County. A records check confirmed that the information was true and the driver was taken into custody. Consent was obtained to search the vehicle, and the passenger was asked to exit the vehicle to facilitate the search. During the search narcotic paraphernalia was found, including a glass methamphetamine smoking pipe, hypodermic syringes, plastic packaging material containing suspected methamphetamine residue, and a digital scale.
Vallecito, CA...We would like to than Sgt. Josh Crabtree from the Calaveras Bomb Squad (The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit) for spending a few minutes with on scene of an explosion that happened just before 5am this morning that injured three. An approximately 6 inch long explosive device detonated and injured the parties. Two of the injured parties were medi-flighted to UC Davis and a third injured party was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center later in the day. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and assisting were members from the Stanislaus Sheriff's Department Explosives Squad and to process a crime scene that encompassed a fairly wide area.
