Two Arrested in Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA...On 09/30/2014 at 1700 hours, Deputies contacted a female subject on the 7600 block of Baldwin Street, in Valley Springs. The female subject was seen walking in a residential area on private property. The deputies recognized the female subject as Susan Marie Stratton (31 years old), who was placed under arrest for misdemeanor warrants. The deputies conducted a security check of the residence that was located on the property. As deputies were knocking on the door, a white male subject exited out the back and began to run, jumping over fences. Deputies gave chase when they heard a female subject yelling. Deputies contacted the female subject and she stated the white male subject had forced his way into her home and prevented her from leaving. The subject had told her that he was running from the Sheriff's Department and needed a place to hide. As the male subject began to close blinds, the home owner exited the residence and contacted the Sheriff's Department....

California Department of Boating and Waterways Awards the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office a Grant to Purchase a New Patrol Vessel.

Tuolumne County, CA...In May of 2014 the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office made a request to the Department of Parks and Recreation Division of Boating and Waterways for an equipment grant. I am very pleased to inform you that on September 19th , I was notified by DBW that we have been awarded an $80,000.00 grant for the purchase of a new patrol boat. We will now be able to replace a patrol boat that is 16 years ....

Rape Suspect Arrest in Jamestown

Jamestone, CA...On Monday, 9/22/14 about 12:30 A.M. the adult female victim contacted the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office to report she had been sexually assaulted at an acquaintance’s residence in the 18000 block of 5th Avenue in Jamestown. The Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the incident and a search warrant was served at the residence. The suspect, fifty one year old, Daniel Bartels, was located at the residence and arrested for the sexual assault. A search of the residence was conducted and a small amount of methamphetamine was located as well as a small quantity of small arms ammunition which Bartels is prohibited from possessing due to a prior felony conviction....

Major Injuries In Fight After Pool Game At The Office

Sonora, CA...19 September 2014, at approx. 2:36 am, Officers responded to the area of the Office Bar (155 S. Washington Street) for a report of physical fight that had just ended, with an unconscious victim on the ground. When Officers arrived, they located an unconscious 26 year old male from Wi Wuk. This subject sustained major head trauma and several broken bones in his face as a result from the attack. The victim was flow to a Modesto area hospital for treatment....

Local Resident, Special Agent Christopher Paris Honored At CDCR Medal of Valor Ceremony

Sacramento, CA...The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) honored 108 employees today during the annual Medal of Valor Ceremony. The Medal of Valor is earned by employees who distinguish themselves — whether on-duty or off — through bravery or heroism above and beyond the normal demands of correctional service. The Medal of Valor is the highest honor CDCR bestows upon its employees. “This ceremony gives us an opportunity to recognize and thank some of the men and women who work tirelessly each day to protect the public’s safety,” said CDCR Secretary Jeff Beard. “Each of today’s honorees is an example of the quality of our staff. I am truly honored to lead this department, and I am very proud of the employees we are recognizing today.”

Jamestown, CA...On Wednesday 9/17/14 about 12:50am the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department, responded to a residence in the 18000 Block of Eighth Avenue in Jamestown, on a report of a stabbing. Arrest Made In King Fire

Camino, CA...CAL FIRE and United States Forest Service (USFS) law enforcement officers, in conjunction with the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, arrested a Pollock Pines man on suspicion of arson in connection with the King Fire. Wayne Allen Huntsman, 37, of Pollock Pines was booked into the El Dorado County Jail for arson on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. Federal, State and Local law enforcement officers work diligently in arson cases to aggressively investigate and prosecute those suspected of intentionally starting fires....
