Tuolumne County, CA... On 10/27/14 the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s recovered human remains from New Melones Resevoir. An autopsy was conducted, Detectives and members of the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department have been working to identify the deceased. The deceased has been positively identified as, seventy four year old, Wayne Morris Fry, of Tracy CA. Mr. Fry was reported missing in April of 1995, after....

Sacramento, CA...The California Highway Patrol (CHP) today announced that it is implementing a yearlong, federally funded traffic safety campaign to reduce the number of collisions associated with aggressive driving. “Every year, speed and aggressive driving plays a role in the death or injury of thousands of people in California,” said CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow. “Through this enforcement and education campaign we seek to curb the number of fatal and injury collisions linked to speeding and other dangerous driving.”

Calaveras Sheriff Volunteers Provide Traffic Control During Copperopolis Veteran's Day Parade

Copperopolis, CA...Calaveras Sheriff Volunteer Sgt. Bob Fienberg and six other Sheriff Volunteers (Lt. Ed Anderson, Lyle Bradt, Sgt. Ralph Carlascio, Louis Chiu, Ed Evans and Pat Toepel) provided traffic control during the Veteran’s Day Parade in Copperopolis on Veteran’s Day. These Sheriff Volunteers, many of whom are veterans themselves, take pride in honoring the veterans for their service and sacrifice to this beautiful nation. CALAVERAS COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT URGES 9-1-1 CALLERS TO ‘KNOW YOUR LOCATION’

San Andreas, Calif. – Many callers to 9-1-1 assume that call takers who answer their call will automatically know their location. This is not always the case––especially with cell phones. “In a recent consumer survey we found that over two-thirds of respondents believe that 9-1-1 knows their location when they call from a cell phone,” said Public Safety Communications Assistant Director Karen Wong. “However, this is a public misperception and our pilot program will help us guide communications to convey the importance of knowing your location when calling 9-1-1.” ...

Student Arrested For Hitting Teacher At Bret Harte

Angels Camp, CA...On November 10, 2014 at approximately 12:55 pm the Angels Camp Police Department received a report of a battery on a school employee at Bret Harte High School. Upon investigation it was determined that a 15 year old student hit a teacher with his fist causing injury to the teacher’s head.
