Arnold, CA...We need snow in the high country and we need to put an end to the fire season. The forecast for the end of the week may not do much to help either but let's hope the storm door is starting to creak open. The latest from the National Weather Service for the West Slope and Mother Lode is below...Detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today Mostly sunny. Highs 61 to 76 higher elevations...73 to 83 lower elevations. Prevailing east winds up to 10 mph shifting to the west in the afternoon. Tonight Mostly clear. Lows 36 to 51 higher elevations...46 to 60 lower elevations. Prevailing north winds up to 10 mph shifting to the east after midnight.

The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Calaveras Public Utilities Urge Water Conservation Due to PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff Potential October 25 into October 27 |

San Andreas, CA...Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) announced that there is a Public Safety Power Shutoff Potential from Sunday, October 25 into Tuesday, October 27 and could remain off for as long as five days. Water and sewer utilities across Calaveras County are jointly urging customers to conserve water and only use it for critical health and safety needs during PG&E’s planned Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).
