The 46th Annual Lumberjack Day is October 2nd, 2021! |

West Point, CA...Come and celebrate the rich logging heritage of West Point with the 46th annual Lumberjack Days. Prepare for a full day of fun, from a logging show, to vendors, and a parade, there’s something for the whole family! Before the parade, make sure to stop by the car and motorcycle show starting at 9:00AM for raffles, hot dogs, and a DJ. Parking lots are on Hwy 26, across from Ace, behind Dollar General, the fee is $5.00 and benefits Calaveras FFA. Handicap parking is accessible in the from 9:30 to 10:00 in front of Blue Mt. Coalition for Youth and Families Center. A courtesy shuttle from parking lots to Pure Joy on Pine St will run all day.

Mountain Ranch, CA…In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we’re still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you’ve got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered. Click on images below for larger versions

The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we’re still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Arnold, CA...Well with Labor Day in the rearview mirror it is time to start think about fall. Cool crisp mornings, warm comfortable afternoons and a sweatshirt or two to take the chill out of the air in the evenings. Well that remains just a fantasy as we have triple digit temps for most of our areas and heat warnings till Thursday. The Detailed forecast for West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today, Mostly sunny. Haze and patchy smoke. Highs 78 to 93 higher elevations...91 to 103 lower elevations. Prevailing east winds up to 10 mph shifting to the west in the afternoon.
