Bear Valley, CA. April 6, 2013 ‐ Bear Valley Mountain, the Central Sierra Nevada’s premier family skiing and snowboarding resort, announced today that, weather permitting, the resort plans to close for the winter season following the last day of skiing and riding scheduled for Sunday, April 14, 2013. Several events are planned for closing weekend including the resort’s annual “Reggae on the Mountain”, “Pondskimming” and “Jib Jam” events which are all happening Saturday April 13th, 2013. On the last day of skiing and riding, Sunday April 14th, the resort has more in store, including its annual Season Passholder Appreciation BBQ and the annual “Slush Cup” Giant Slalom, fun race, which benefits the Bear Valley Education Foundation (B.V.S.E.F.). Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. Blustery, with a east northeast wind 13 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 50. Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Cross Country celebrated its last day of winter operations with an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday March 31. We want to extend a heartfelt thanks for a great ski season due in large part to all of you. From Wine Tasting in the Meadow in November to the Sunday Ski Improvement series, Wednesday/Sunday Strider Glider class, Thursday Adult class to record turnout for the 40th annual Bjornloppet and Tour de Bear Valley, great skiing and snowshoeing memories were made here in Bear Valley! You guys ROCK!
