Just when you thought it was over ... POWDER DAY!

Posted by: Kim_Hamilton on 04/29/2009 05:41 PM
Bear Valley, CA....The month of May is starting off wet with a late season winter storm expected to dump a foot or more of new snow above 7000 ft. What better reason to fire up the Bear Tracker Snowcat and take advantage of one last powder day this Saturday May 2nd!

This Weeks Ebbetts Pass Fishing Report ~By Bill Reynolds

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/29/2009 09:39 AM
Arnold, CA...The opener was slow due to increased flow in the rivers and creeks and access was limited due to the snow-pack. There was still success stories for the opening day from the North Fork of the Stanislaus and Beaver Creek. Most of the fishermen that did well were using Panther Martin's and Rapala's. I would Like to also thank the Master-Baiters fishing club for all their support as they have been coming here for 26 years...

Late Winter Storm System Rolls Through. Should be clear for the Weekend. ~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/24/2009 07:40 AM
Angels Camp, CA...A late winter storm system is rolling through the area. Observers in Bear Valley have seen over 3" of fresh snow with more falling right now. It is too late to extend the ski season but it should help Bear Valley Snowmobile as their is still plenty of snow on the ground for snowmobile rentals. They are still renting snowmobiles in Bear Valley and at Spicer. This should also help late winter snow play and put a fresh coat of whitewash on the snow. In Angels Camp it should clear out tonight and remain clear with a projected high of 67 degrees for the Big Relay For Life event at Bret Harte. We have included...

It's Brush and Lot Clearing Time...Are You Ready? ~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/24/2009 10:35 AM
Murphys, CA...We had the pleasure of doing a Video Commercial with Sean Murphy in action as he cleared some heavy Manzanita from a client's property in the Murphys area. It was pretty amazing. What was formerly brush so thick you could barely walk through it was now a thick layer of mulch covering the ground. Not only was...

The 2009 Slush Cup High Sierra Championships Caps a Great Racing Season ~By John Hamilton

Posted by: thepinetree on 04/22/2009 10:41 PM
Bear Valley, CA...The 2009-2009 Bear Valley Ski Season is now officially in the history books. There will be a few more snow cat ski excursions but the lifts have spun for their last regularly scheduled day. The 09 Slush Cup featured the largest field in it's 4 year history. It is also a reunion of sorts with current and former racers, local speed merchants and racing dads and moms strapping on their sticks in the benefit event for the Bear Valley Snowsports Education Foundation or BVSEF. The event was a fun, light-hearted day yet had with a serious competitive side. One of the races within the competition was the battle between 60 plus year old, Jere Foutz and 12 year old, Bear Valley racer, Erik Arvidsson. They were battling it out for bragging rights to the fastest times of the day. They may have been separated by over 40 years chronologically but...
