Tuolumne County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has removed the winter snow, cleared the debris and made the necessary repairs to open State Route 108 (SR-108) over Sonora Pass at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. The diligent work of Caltrans crews enabled the opening of the pass for motorists who utilize this route. Calaveras County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 4 from upper Moran Road to Calaveras Big Trees State Park entrance for construction activities. Work will begin Monday, June 12, 2017, through Friday, June 16, 2017, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Over the last 10 winters an average of 39 people died in avalanches each winter in North America. Arnold, CA...Sonora Pass - SR-108 SONORA in Tuolumne County due to approaching storm, Sonora Pass/SR-108 will not open today (Friday, June 9). Status will be re-assessed Saturday. Ebbetts Pass/SR-4 is scheduled to remain closed into July, due to major road damage.
