Tonight Mostly cloudy in the evening then clearing. At lower elevations, a chance of rain showers in the evening. At higher elevations, a chance of rain and snow showers in the evening. Colder. Camp Connell, CA...Hello all - two things I wanted to share - first off - I would like to dedicate this post to Ray Sutliffe. Ray has been a fixture at Camp Connell for many years, helping out with special events in the backyard, and taking recyclables for us (or at least for my sister Donna). He's had a difficult time of late, and well Ray here's to you - our tribute to a local gem! In Ray's honor, and for rest of April, all regular wine will be priced at "Ray's Price" which is $5 per glass. Hope you will join us in tribute! Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We've picked up 16" of new snow in the last 48hrs and current winds are SW at 5-9mph. Today we will see mostly sunny skies with a high of 36F and SW winds from 5-9mph. Expect delays on the Lower Mtn as Avalanche Control teams will be doing work down there this morning. As I've mentioned in the last few weeks the models struggle a bit in the spring so the forecasts can change dramatically even a day before or after being given. Stay tuned...... Arnold, CA...Along the West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada Today Rain and snow showers. A weather system will continue to bring more snow to the Sierra Nevada and Southern Cascades through early this evening. The brunt of the snow is expected through the early morning hours. Locally heavy snow with lowering snow levels is possible in showers through the rest of the day. Highs 27 to 41 higher elevations...40 to 48 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...1 to 6 inches higher elevations. Snow level 5000 feet. Prevailing southwest winds 5 to 15 mph with gusts to around 30 mph.
Lake Alpine, CA...We would like to thank John Michnowicz for the photos from yesterday as Caltrans commenced their work in earnest of clearing Ebbetts Pass for spring & summer. It will be a long and tough task as once the roads are cleaned crews will need to finish any road repairs needed. We have heard that there may be some damage to the roadway over by the Carson River. How much and how long it will take repairs won't be known until the clearing is finished..

Bear Valley, CA...CHP is reporting that no humans have been injured in a collision near Hwy 4 and Bear Valley.
Unfortunately is looks like there has been one canine fatality.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 6" of new snow at 5am and 17" for the current storm total and more on the way! Today another 4-8" of new snow could fall and winds will be out of the SSW from 10-3-mph. We are already seeing some fluctuations in the forecast in the last 36hrs so anything is possible. Tonight snow showers are expected and a few more inches cold fall. Sunday brings back partly sunny skies and warming temps. Spring is here and so is fluctuating weather patterns and forecasts...........Expect possible delays on the upper and lower mountain due to high snow fall and winds today. We are already seeing some fluctuations in the forecast overnight so anything is possible over the next 48hrs-from lot's of snow and high winds to moderate amounts of snow...........
