Bear Valley Cross Country Opens For The Season On Friday, November 29th!! Updated |
Posted by: thepinetree on 11/23/2013 02:35 PM
|
Bear Valley, CA...With the recent snowfall, Bear Valley Cross Country & Adventure Company is pleased to announce that a nice selection of groomed trails, including three new trails, will be open for snowshoeing and fat biking beginning on Friday, November 29, 2013. Due to the current minimal amount of snow, cross country skiing may, or may not, be part of the offering. The staff has made a tremendous effort this summer preparing the trails to be able to open with less snow than ever before, so trails could be skied on with as little as two or three additional inches of snow. According to today’s weather forecast, that is entirely possible by the Friday opening. The tubing facility will be open as well, sort of. Until we receive more snow, the tubing operation will be moved to Bear Valley Mountain, where they are making snow in preparation for a Saturday, November 30th, opening that will include the Polar Dash 5K/1K Fun Run, tubing and other activities.

Bear Valley Cross Country's Opening Day is Friday, November 29th |
Posted by: thepinetree on 11/21/2013 01:37 PM
|
Bear Valley, CA....Bear Valley Cross Country's groomed trail system is scheduled to open on Friday, November 29, 2013! This is snow conditions permitting and there is a bit of precipitation in the forecast, so please do your snow dances. Some of the first trails to open will be the 3 new ones added for this winter. Other improvements include new grooming equipment and a significant amount of summer trail tune-up work. Snow Biking. Utilizing "fat bikes" that have wide, 4-inch tires with a beefy tread, these specialty bikes can glide over packed trails leaving barely a mark (no grooming damage) that regular mountain bikes can't. Bear Valley Cross Country has purchased a fleet of rental and retail Fat Tire Snow Bikes for the 2013-14 season. There will be a nice selection of trails where this activity will be allowed. More information will be released soon...
