Bear Valley Opening This Saturday & Mattly's Weather update for Dec 9th 2013

Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Mountain will open this Saturday & Sunday December 14 & 15th. At this time they are planning on being dark next Monday -Thursday and then the wheels will be turning daily starting December 20th for the 2013/2014 season. As we head towards opening day in a few days we are featuring weather updates from Mattly Trent. He is a local weather guru, ski patroller and the voice of Bear Valley Mountain. He combines not only the love of skiing and outdoors but as a ski patroller he wants you to be safe while you play.

Prevailing southeast winds up to 10 mph shifting to the southwest in the afternoon. Gusts up to 30 mph. Over ridges...prevailing southwest winds 10 to 20 mph increasing to 15 to 30 mph in the afternoon. Tonight: A chance of snow in the evening...then snow after midnight. Lows 9 to 23 higher elevations...22 to 28 lower elevations. Snow accumulation of 7 to 12 inches. Prevailing south winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 40 mph after midnight...
