Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Tuesday night should bring us around 10″-16″ of snow with Wednesday/Wednesday night producing upwards of 20″+. Powder riding is back folks!!!! As a colder air mass is associated with this storm the ratios could be 15:1 to 20:1 from Wednesday through Thursday morning, i.e. awesome light powder riding!!! Bear Valley CA....Bear Valley Cross Country will host the 38th Annual Bjornloppet XC Ski Race and Festival on March 12th and March 13th, 2011. This is one of the longest running ski races in the west and it is open to all ages. In addition, the California Senior Winter Games will be held the same weekend in Bear Valley. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Light winds out of the SSW will happen today as the first sign of a change in weather rolls over northern California. WInter is back on Monday!!! Up to 3-4 feet of new snow by next Friday. Cooler temps as the system pushes through should provide some fantastic riding. Some of the Grizz Bowl gates will remain closed through out the weekend, due to firm/icy conditions. The Snow Valley gate will be open today and will have some great groomed riding! Ask Patrol about gate openings/closures. Spring conditions are abundant on the village side of the Ski Area. Forecast models indicate a subtropical moisture tap to bring snow to the region late Monday night/early Tuesday morning. Depending on the dew point and 700mb temps the snow level should start at around 6000ft or so. Some of the Grizz Bowl gates will remain closed through out the week, due to firm/icy conditions. The Snow Valley gate will be open today and will have some great groomed riding! Ask Patrol about gate openings/closures. Spring conditions are abundant on the village side of the Ski Area.
