Arnold, CA...Welcome back and thank you for watching another week of "This Week With The One Percent" In this week's show our sites head up the hill to Bear Valley, First up in our conversations was with Bear Valley Music Festival's executive director Eman Isadiar who has been getting rave reviews during his tenure as director. They have another great round of concerts and provide even more reasons to visit our local high country as the thermometers head back into triple digits and lower levels. We also had the pleasure to spend a few minutes with Paul Peterson of Bear Valley Cross Country and Adventure Company. Paul & His Wife Dianne have been an integral part of the Bear Valley story for over 40 years. Park City, UT...The U.S. Alpine Ski Team has announced its nominations for the 2016-17 season. Nominations include those active athletes who qualified based on published selection criteria in the prior season. Each athlete accepting the nomination to U.S. Alpine Ski Team receives a high level of world-class program support, along with access to the USSA Center of Excellence, as well as athletic benefits including an elite coaching, sport science, sports medicine and high performance staff, and education opportunities.
Man Survives Deliberately Driving Off Hwy 4 At Cadillac Curve

Bear Valley, CA....Witnesses saw a man deliberately drive off of Hwy 4 at the infamous Cadillac Curve in a probable attempt to end his life. We have been told it was a young man from Carson City but to not add any additional burden on his life as he tries to move on we will not be posting anything additional. It is our understanding he sustained arm injuries but is expected to make a recovery.

Arnold, CA...(Update as of 9:45am Tuesday morning. Thank You!!! As of right now our first show has had 15,368 Views!!) Tonight is the Premier of "The One Percent" it gets its name from the USDA Study that ranked all 3,111 counties in the lower 48 based on the "natural amenities index". The index hopes to be "a measure of the physical characteristics of a county area that enhance the location as a place to live." Calaveras came in as the 14th ranked county in the whole nation. Our neighbors to the south, north and east all ranked high but came in just a bit lower than Calaveras. So if you average our the counties in our coverage area they all score in the top one percent of places to live in the US.
