Bear Valley, CA...Head on up to our Winter Wonderland for some fresh snow! Bear Valley Mountain Resort has received 32" of snow in the last 48 hours. Please carry chains at all times and use extra caution as the roads may be icy. The snow report for today is enclosed...

Dodge Ridge Hosted the Ryan Lavagnino Classic Last Weekend |

Dodge Ridge, CA...The Dodge Ridge Race Team played host this weekend to the Far West USSA ski race teams. It was the firs GS race for the year. The Central Series Teams that participated in this race were Bear Valley, Dodge Ridge, Sierra Summit and Badger Pass. Even though the conditions were tough, there4 was still over 100 young ambitious athletes that performed well. It was cold and blustery at the top of the course. Everyone had to keep moving to stay warm. The Dodge Ridge Staff even brought up blankets to keep the starting line staff warm. The race was cancelled on Sunday due to Dodge Ridge receiving too much snow on Saturday night, which made it difficult to be able to set the course for Sunday. The results from Saturday's times determined the outcome for the weekend...

26 Burn Survivor's Enjoying a Weekend of Play up at Bear Valley! |

Bear Valley, CA....The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation kids have arrived in Bear Valley for their Annual weekend of playing in our Winter Wonderland. This year there are 26 kids participating. For the past 13 years this been a tradition for this foundation. Bear Valley Mountain Resort has donated rentals, lift tickets and food. The Bear Valley portion of this project has been graciously facilitated by Rosie Sundell and Jim Gentling. Chapel in the Pines of Arnold has donated lodging for these kids. The Ebbetts Pass Fire Department has graciously provided breakfasts and dinners.....

Bear Valley, CA…. Yesterday, Bear Valley Mountain Resort kicked off their first BV Sessions Slope Style Series event. The competition took place on the infamous beginner run Super Cub which is located on the far west side of the mountain near Kuala Chair. The park course included three table tops, two rails, one box, and ending the course was the park wall reaching ten feet in vertical height. Before the competition began fans and local spectators surrounded the course to support the brave participants....

"We want to make sure all action stays on the football field and not on Calaveras County Highways. Bear Valley, CA...Slopestyle competition coming up this Saturday, with a $1500.00 cash purse. Get up and enjoy the fresh snow...Conditions are fantastic!! Cooler temps will make way for some great powder riding! Remember to observe all posted warnings about the lower Mtn and please use caution as the avalanche risk will be moderate to high for the surrounding areas. Bear Valley, CA...We have heard from a few of you that the term Schmuck was too derogatory to call one of our famous field reporters. So I guess they will be the "Sap" Reports in the future. This one was shot Sunday at Bear Valley during a white out! These reports pay homage to the poor reporters that local news channels send out into inclement weather just people can see how bad it is..

Bear Valley, CA...A few weeks ago we had the turkey that took up residence near Big Trees Market now we have "Greta" The Grouse that has adopted Bear Valley Cross Country as her new home. Greta is a wild and tame kind of gal! She has been known to munch on a cracker or two. If you want to buy her lunch I am sure she will take you up on it! So the next time you happen be up at Bear Valley Cross Country, be sure to stop by and say Hi to Greta. Our chat with Greta is enclosed.....
