Bear Valley, CA...Bear Valley Village was packed on New Years Eve 2014 with two bands filling the Cathedral Lounge and Sky High Pizza and the entire commercial center with those looking forward to a great 2015. Each year the images of fireworks lighting up the night over a snow covered landscape never cease to amaze. We would like to thank Neil Hunt for letting us share some of his spectacular shots again this year. These were taken from Bloods Ridge above the Village...

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! .Expect possible delays from wind hold over the last 2 days. Current winds at 5am are gusting to 40mph but sustained winds are hovering around 15-18mph and on the decline.. After a few days of high winds and closures we are going to be in operation today. It looks to be a sunny day today with a high near 38. Wind chill values as low as -2. East northeast wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Stay tuned............Peace Out, Mattly

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Expect possible delays in opening and possible chair closures today due to High Winds! Today will be sunny with a high near 25. Wind chill values will be as low as -20. East northeast wind from 29 to 34 mph decreasing to 22 to 27 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Pressure gradients are tight with this system so ENE winds gusting up to 35mph later tonight and with a low around 14F wind chill values as low as -5F will be possible. At higher elevations...scattered snow showers late in the morning...then isolated snow showers in the afternoon. Windy. Highs 17 to 32 higher elevations...30 to 40 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 50 mph...except northeast 30 to 45 mph with gusts to around 65 mph over ridges. Tonight Mostly clear. At higher elevations...a slight chance of snow showers in the evening. Windy...colder. Lows 2 to 17 higher elevations...15 to 25 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 15 to 30 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph in the evening. Over ridges...prevailing northeast winds 30 to 50 mph decreasing to 20 to 30 mph after midnight...

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! A trace of new snow fell overnight and today we will see Scattered snow showers mainly before 10am. Mostly sunny in the afternoon with a temperature falling to around 16 by 5pm. Wind chill values will be as low as -8. Blustery, with an east northeast wind from 16 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Pressure gradients are tight with this system so ENE winds gusting up to 55mph will arrive later tonight and with a low around 7F wind chill values as low as -18F will be possible.
