Bear Valley, CA...US Ski Team Member Erik Arvidsson back in Bear Valley this week to train. Erik began his skiing career as a member of Bear Valley's Development team at just 6 years old. Not long after he joined Bear Valley’s Race team and continued his racing in Squaw. It didn't take long before he was on the radar of the U.S. Ski Team. Winning the combined and slalom titles at the 2012 J2 National Championships helped. The event was upgraded for the 2014 season into the U18 National Champs and Arvidsson did not disappoint, nabbing another slalom title. Next month Erik is off to Austria, wish him well if you see him training on the slopes this week!!
Erik Arvidsson & Emily Mallard - both began their racing careers in Bear Valley and still call Bear Valley their "Home Mountain". Erik, recently selected to the US Ski Team and Emily now racing for Stratton School in Vermont.

Bear Valley Weather & Conditions Update ~By Mattly Trent |
Posted by: thepinetree on 12/23/2014 09:05 AM
|
Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! It's going to be another beautiful sunny day with a high right around 52F and winds out of the East from 5-11mph. The next system will be arriving later in the day on Christmas Eve and will bring 3-5" of snow overnight. Snow totals for that system could exceed 5" especially since it's a fast moving in and out storm with a track heading right at Bear Valley. Due to the nature of this fast moving storm winds will be expected to range from 13-36mph. Christmas day will receive the end of the snowfall mid morning and give way to a POWDER DAY with a few clouds remaining as the system pushes out to the East. Make sure to come check out the Acrobag training evolutions this week starting Dec 23rd and running through Dec 27th off the sundeck. Stay tuned......Peace Out, Mattly

The Snow Keeps Falling In Bear Valley ~By Mattly Trent |
Posted by: thepinetree on 12/20/2014 08:45 AM
|
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Currently we are at 2-4" of new snow overnight and 6" fell yesterday for a total of 8-10" of new snowfal in the last 24hrs. Why am I reporting 2 different numbers you ask? Wind direction, Aspect, Topography and temerature all play a factor in the distribution. Regardless of why a little less fell here than there, it's going to be a ripping day for Skiing/Riding! Today we'll see possibly up to 1-2" of more snow fall then tapering off as mid day approaches and then moving out overnight. The high for today will be around 39F with winds out of the Southwest from 11-14mph with possible gusts to 22mph. Stay tuned.......Peace Out, Mattly
