Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! A trace of new snow fell overnight and today we will see Scattered snow showers mainly before 10am. Mostly sunny in the afternoon with a temperature falling to around 16 by 5pm. Wind chill values will be as low as -8. Blustery, with an east northeast wind from 16 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Pressure gradients are tight with this system so ENE winds gusting up to 55mph will arrive later tonight and with a low around 7F wind chill values as low as -18F will be possible. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 37. West southwest winds from 3 to 7 mph will also be in effect. Monday could bring in an inch or so of new snow but at this time most of the precip event appears to be staying more North of our forecast area. Strong NNE winds from 15-40mph will also take place in the wake of Monday's event as it pushes out East. A cold week of temps is on order with temps ranging from the High 20's(daytime) to mid teens(night time). You can check out this mornings vid around 7:15am and I'll give you a bit more info. Bear Valley, CA...The early season conditions are good and crowds have filled Bear Valley with not only the usual downhill, cross country & snowmobiling activities but now in it's second year even fat tire cycling. The trail system at BVXC provides miles and miles of scenery to explore..

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all ya'll!!!! We received 2-4" in last 24hrs and that means a Powder Day for Christmas. As the system arrived yesterday it brought with it some winds that topped out at 38mph so with some redistribution of the snow that fell you will see 2-4" of new snow around the Mtn with possibly a little bit more in some spots. Currently the temp at 5am is 13F with a wind chill factor of -2F so dress warm today as the projected high will be 28F. Winds will shift to the ENE this morning from 13-23mph. A beautiful Sunny day is expected so come on up and enjoy the Holiday Cheer! Make sure to come check out the Acrobag training evolutions this week running through Dec 27th off the sundeck. Erik Arvidsson US Ski Team Member in BV this Week |

Bear Valley, CA...US Ski Team Member Erik Arvidsson back in Bear Valley this week to train. Erik began his skiing career as a member of Bear Valley's Development team at just 6 years old. Not long after he joined Bear Valley’s Race team and continued his racing in Squaw. It didn't take long before he was on the radar of the U.S. Ski Team. Winning the combined and slalom titles at the 2012 J2 National Championships helped. The event was upgraded for the 2014 season into the U18 National Champs and Arvidsson did not disappoint, nabbing another slalom title. Next month Erik is off to Austria, wish him well if you see him training on the slopes this week!!
Erik Arvidsson & Emily Mallard - both began their racing careers in Bear Valley and still call Bear Valley their "Home Mountain". Erik, recently selected to the US Ski Team and Emily now racing for Stratton School in Vermont.
