Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Partly sunny today with a high near 48. Light and variable wind becoming west southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Some High clouds will make their way into the area today as the resilient ridge coupled with high pressure gives way to sunshine and warming temps for the next 4-5 days. Conditions are perfect for learning or just coming up with the Family for some "Pure Mtn Fun". Check out today's weather vid around 7:15am for more info. Peace Out, Mattly

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Another beautiful sunny day today with temps right around 46F or so. Winds will be out of the ENE from 7-14mph with gusts up to the mid 20's. A change in our dry pattern looks to be possible somewhere around 6-10 days out but still no absolute yet. Right now the resilient ridge of high pressure is still going to be in affect for awhile. The Grooming is amazing so grab your Family, Friends and gear and head on up for some "Pure Mtn Fun". Stay tuned........Peace Out, Mattly

Bear Valley, CA...We drove up to Bear Valley this morning to see how things were shaping up for one of the big winter weekends that all mountain towns need to make it a successful season. Bear Valley was looking good! From everything we have heard including from ski race families who visited Bear Valley last weekend it is safe to say Bear Valley has the best snow product of any central sierra resort. The mountain has been making snow when overnight temps are cool enough and been doing everything they can to make sure skiers have a good on and off snow experience...

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Partly sunny today with a high near 53. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. The grooming is fantastic right now so come get yer schralp on! Make sure to check out the Torchlight Parade Tonight, Jan 17th 2015! It's a great time for the whole Family with movies, sledding, Live Music, dinner and our Awesome Torchlight Parade with Fireworks. USSA Ski Racing Visits Bear Valley For Rasmussen Classic |

Bear Valley, CA...Ski racing has always been an integral part of Bear Valley. From the Nationals Downhill held in 1969, Pro Racing in the 1970s, Multi- Olympian Kyle Rasmussen and all the racing Rasmussen's to more recently with two young Bear Valley Race team alums Erik Arvidsson & now Keely Cashman on the US Ski Team. The Bear Valley Ski Team and the USSA's Far West Central Division have proved they can develop world class racers that can compete anywhere. The Annual Celebration of that competitive spirit is the Rasmussen Classic held the first part of January in Bear Valley....

Bear Valley, CA...Don't miss Bear Valley's Annual MLK party -WINTER EXPLOSION 2015 The Fun begins when the slopes close. Biggest Fireworks Show of the Season will cap off a night of Fun for all ages. We have a variety of simultaneous fun planned including:
Snow Fun: 4:15pm Sledding hill opens when the lifts stop turning.
Music: 4;15pm - Live music featuring Megan Slankard.
Movie: 5:00pm - Sunroom
Dinner: 5:00pm - Our F&B crew is planning a delicious dinner $14 adults, $11 kids under 10 - its a Mexican Fiesta!! (+tax)
Torchlight - Chair Loads approx 6:00pm. Join our snowsports team in a choreographed show for the crowd. Its a ton of fun to be part of the show. Sign up in the Sun Room between 1pm - 4pm. Chair loads at 6pm. Two locations to choose Supercub (rodeo run) and Kuma (Porridge run) -
Fireworks - Approx 6:30pm (as soon as it is dark so stay for dinner and don't miss it) When the Sun finally sets and the parade participants are in.... we light up the sky. Its a fun evening of Pure Mountain Fun!!
More Music - 7:30pm Head to the village for Megan Slankard Live at the Lodge!
