Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Expect possible delays in opening and possible chair closures today due to High Winds! Today will be sunny with a high near 25. Wind chill values will be as low as -20. East northeast wind from 29 to 34 mph decreasing to 22 to 27 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. Pressure gradients are tight with this system so ENE winds gusting up to 35mph later tonight and with a low around 14F wind chill values as low as -5F will be possible. Arnold, CA...Partly cloudy late in the morning then clearing. At lower elevations...isolated snow showers late in the morning. At higher elevations...scattered snow showers late in the morning...then isolated snow showers in the afternoon. Windy. Highs 17 to 32 higher elevations...30 to 40 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 50 mph...except northeast 30 to 45 mph with gusts to around 65 mph over ridges. Tonight Mostly clear. At higher elevations...a slight chance of snow showers in the evening. Windy...colder. Lows 2 to 17 higher elevations...15 to 25 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds 15 to 30 mph. Gusts up to 55 mph in the evening. Over ridges...prevailing northeast winds 30 to 50 mph decreasing to 20 to 30 mph after midnight...

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! A trace of new snow fell overnight and today we will see Scattered snow showers mainly before 10am. Mostly sunny in the afternoon with a temperature falling to around 16 by 5pm. Wind chill values will be as low as -8. Blustery, with an east northeast wind from 16 to 26 mph, with gusts as high as 44 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Pressure gradients are tight with this system so ENE winds gusting up to 55mph will arrive later tonight and with a low around 7F wind chill values as low as -18F will be possible. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 37. West southwest winds from 3 to 7 mph will also be in effect. Monday could bring in an inch or so of new snow but at this time most of the precip event appears to be staying more North of our forecast area. Strong NNE winds from 15-40mph will also take place in the wake of Monday's event as it pushes out East. A cold week of temps is on order with temps ranging from the High 20's(daytime) to mid teens(night time). You can check out this mornings vid around 7:15am and I'll give you a bit more info. Bear Valley, CA...The early season conditions are good and crowds have filled Bear Valley with not only the usual downhill, cross country & snowmobiling activities but now in it's second year even fat tire cycling. The trail system at BVXC provides miles and miles of scenery to explore..

Bear Valley, CA... Hey Good People! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all ya'll!!!! We received 2-4" in last 24hrs and that means a Powder Day for Christmas. As the system arrived yesterday it brought with it some winds that topped out at 38mph so with some redistribution of the snow that fell you will see 2-4" of new snow around the Mtn with possibly a little bit more in some spots. Currently the temp at 5am is 13F with a wind chill factor of -2F so dress warm today as the projected high will be 28F. Winds will shift to the ENE this morning from 13-23mph. A beautiful Sunny day is expected so come on up and enjoy the Holiday Cheer! Make sure to come check out the Acrobag training evolutions this week running through Dec 27th off the sundeck.
