Too Much Snow? Really? Bear Valley To Use Monday Catch Up On Over 6.5 Feet Of New Snow!

Bear Valley, CA...Ironic, but, yes, that is the situation. After over 6.5 feet of snow in the last 4 days and the expectation for another 18 inches overnight we plan to close operations on MONDAY JAN 23rd to recover our infrastructure. The massive amount of snow combined with high winds and road closures forced many California resorts to shut down on Sunday. We are thankful to our operation teams for making a heroic effort to get open today and provide a full weekend of skiing/riding on the fresh powder that so many of our guests love. However the storm cycle continues and strengthens overnight and into tomorrow morning.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We picked up another 12" of new snow overnight for a whopping storm total so far of 58"!!!!!! The high today should come in around the mid to upper 20's with winds out of the SSW from 11-26 with possible gust up to 40mph. The riding is off the hook right now and the upper mtn is in awesome shape as most everything is filled in. We're still assessing the Lwr mtn for Avalanche hazards which remain at a 4 High currently but patience is the key here. With the storm intensifying over the next 2 days it will remain closed. Until then copious amounts of quality riding is to be had on the frontside/backside and village sides of our Mtn. Stay safe, ride with a buddy and be aware of deep tree wells as they are abundant inbounds and in the soft boundaries. Come on up and check out our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........
Power Outage Update...The List is Long & Bulk Of Hwy 4 Outage Should Be Repaired By Noon

Arnold, CA...PG&E has informed us that the bulk of the Hwy 4 customers back online by noon. The long list of outages at this time. Arnold 33 outages for 4600 not moving current. Avery 1 outage affecting 75 customers. Cedar Ridge has 2 outages with 333 down. Dorrington is down to 4 outages with 306 with refrigerators closed. Forest Meadows has 2 outages with 819 gated safely without power. Greeley Hill has 33 in the dark. Groveland 44. Long Barn has 153 on candle power. Mi - Wuk Village has 579 Villagers getting ready to eat all their ice cream. Mokelumne Hill has 60 customers staring at dark TV screens. Phoenix Lake has 33 with kids that want their gamesystems. Pine Mountain Lake has 39 that would rather be flying. Pioneer has 1250 wanting to charge their cell phones. Sonora has 473 customers tapping remotes that wont respond. Strawberry has 230 customers bundling up and going sledding. Tuolumne has 395 heading to Black Oak. Twain Harte has 19 outages and 1177 bundled up by the fire. Volcano has 116 parents ready to erupt because kids keep asking when power will be back on. West Point has 65 customers without and 35 of those will somehow blame it on Growers.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 13" of new overnight!!! 31" for the storm total so far and counting! We are in it and well......it's time to get yer powder game on. Today the high will be around 29F with SSW winds from 20-40mph. 8-12" s expected to fall during the day today and another 5-9" tonight, 3-7" during the day Saturday, 5-9" Saturday night, 9-13" Sunday and 9-13" Sunday night. Expect possible delays due to weather as we will have Avalanche Control every morning into next week. Get on up here and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!! Stay tuned..................

Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People! 10" of new in 24hrs!!! As the system continues we'll see another 3-5" today, 2-4" tonight, 6-10" Friday, 5-9" Friday night and 2-4" for Saturday with more coming but we'll wait another day before we put those totals out. The high today is expected to be around 28F with winds out of the SSW from 13-20mph. The low tonight will come in around 26F with continues winds out of the South from 10-21mph. Expect possible delays due to weather as we will have Avalanche Control this morning and for the next handful of days. Get on up here and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!! Arnold, CA...The storm door reopens and anther system moves into our area tomorrow along the West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada. Today Mostly sunny. Highs 39 to 49 higher elevations...47 to 55 lower elevations. Prevailing east winds up to 10 mph in the morning becoming light. Tonight Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows 24 to 38 higher elevations...36 to 42 lower elevations. Prevailing southeast winds up to 10 mph. Wednesday Cloudy. At lower elevations, a chance of rain in the morning, then rain likely in the afternoon. At higher elevations, a chance of rain and snow in the morning, then rain and snow likely in the afternoon. Highs 32 to 44 higher elevations...42 to 50 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 1 inch higher elevations. Snow level 7000 feet. Prevailing south winds 10 to 20 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph in the afternoon.

Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People!! Hey Good People! A crisp clear morning here at BV at 5am. With more sunshine on the way today it's going to be an awesome day to get out and ride. The high will be right around 37F or so and winds will stay light out of the ENE from 3-5mph. MLK day will be a repeat and well, you couldn't ask for better conditions in NorCal. As we push past the weekend a low pressure system will arrive early Wednesday morning and bring more snow to the area so get on up here and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!!
