Bear Valley, CA...Join Bear Valley's CEO, Martin Wegenstein, for the first First Tracks of the season! Be one of the first on the mountain, when the chair starts turning an hour early, just for you! Space is limited and advanced reservations are required. For a select group of skiers and snowboarders, the lifts will start turning an hour early (7:30a). Join Bear Valley's CEO, Martin, and be guided around the mountain by their expert instructors and patrolers, to find the best tracks on the hill! This program is highly recommended for advanced skiers/boarders only....

Bear Valley, CA...Join Bear Valley Mountain Resort for an evening of Fun at their Annual Winter Explosion on Sunday January 20th! Once the lifts stop turning for the day, go relax in the day lodge! They will have a movie & games in the Sunroom for the kids and live music from "Electric Zowie" in the Saloon starting at 4:30pm. It's a beautiful day and it looks like temps will warm into the 40's during the week. Start making plans to be there for Martin Luther King weekend. Saturday kicks off Safety Week & will host a FREE Progression Session terrain park clinic. On Sunday Jan 20th, get ready for Winter Explosion - live music, torchlight parade, fireworks & dinner. Mokelumne Hill, CA...We were passed along some news that cuts are ahead for local Ambulance service from American Legion due to hard economic times. The Mokelumne Hill Unit will be phased out completely and the hours of an additional Unit will be curtailed. The call volumes have been lower than expected so they feel cuts are necessary...

Bear Valley, CA....Bear Valley Mountain Resort will host the first of it's AT&T GS Race Series this Saturday, January 19th. Other race dates of this series are February 16th and March 15th, 2008. Bear Valley's GS Racing is an awesome way to spend your afternoon. Open to all ages and abilities, test your times against other Bear Valley riders. Registration: Sign up the day of the race at the slope-side Special Events shack from 9:30am~10:30am. Entry Fees are $10/race for Adults (13+) and $5/race for Kids (12 and under). $20 Bib Deposit.
