Bear Valley, CA...CHP is reporting an injury snowmobile collision & fire on Hwy 4 near Mosquito Lake. Long way in and out on a snowmobile for rescue. Let's hope it is a happy outcome....

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Another sunny day on tap for today with a high of 55F and a North wind of 5-7mph it should be a stellar day. Conditions on the Mtn are exceptional and there were smiles across the miles Saturday and it looks to be a repeat today. Abundant snowfall this season has set us up for great spring conditions and having wrote that, we're extending our season for another week! April 23rd is now our official closing date so if you are thinking of coming up for your spring break we'll be open as most other Nor/Central Cal resorts will be closing a week earlier. Come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! High pressure and ridging has a firm hold over Central/Nor Cal today and will continue for the next 5/6 days. Some high level clouds may make an appearance but that will be about it. Temps will increase over the next few days as today's high will reach 52F and climb steadily up to 56F by Monday. Winds today will be out of the Southeast and up to 5mph. It's a spring like feel and conditions on the Mtn are representative of these changes. We're grooming almost everything for your riding pleasure as the East Ridge on the Village side was groomed last night and today Snow Valley will be also getting a make over so the lower Mtn will be closed to accommodate winching operations and we plan to have it back open at 9am on Saturday. Abundant snowfall ths season has set us up for great spring conditions and having wrote that, we're extending our season for another week! Squaw Valley, CA...Millions of fans worldwide will be watching the racing action on Red Dog as the Audi FIS Ski World Cup comes to the Olympic village of Squaw Valley Friday and Saturday. But resort officials and local Olympic champion Julia Mancuso have a forward looking view, hoping that the races inspire the next generation of stars. Officials from Squaw Valley and the U.S. Ski Team spoke to media Thursday to kickoff the race weekend. A continual theme was how the weekend of ski racing will impact the future.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! As high pressure has firmly put itself in place off the Pacific Coast we will continue to see Sunny weather into the weekend and possibly beyond. Strong ridging will keep any available moisture well to the North for the next 5 days and temps will be on the increase as well. Today the high comes in around 46F with East winds from 5-10mph. The highs this week will continue to rise and peak on Friday with a projected 53F. It has been an amazing Winter so far but the long range forecasts still show some good snow fall to occur in the 7-10 day outlook and beyond. A bit of a break is happily accepted as all of us at the resort can use some breathing room from back to back storms and rejuvenate with some sunshine for awhile. Bear Valley Extends Season to April 23, 2017 As Abundance Of Snow This Winter Has Resort Operating at Full Capacity

Bear Valley, CA...Given this winter’s bountiful snowfall, it should come as no surprise that Bear Valley has announced the extension of its season to April 23, 2017. The Resort has receive a total of 432 inches of snow this season, providing some of the best skiing and snowboarding conditions in years. With a current base of 167 inches, Bear Valley has 100 percent of its terrain open, 1680 skiable acres, and all lifts in operation. Additionally, it’s terrain parks, cross country skiing and tubing are all in operation.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 9" of new snow has fallen as of 5am! Winds are currently out of the SSW from 0-6mph with gusts into the mid 20's. Another 8-12" is expected to fall today and winds will continue out of the SSW from 18-24mph with gusts up into the mid to upper 30's. Sunday night looks to bring another 1-3" into the mix before the system starts to taper and head East. Snow levels today could reach down to the 2500' range so some good powder riding is expected today and Monday. The lower Mountain will remain on hold today as the storm ramps up a bit in both snow fall totals and increasing wind velocities. We expect to have the lower Mountain open for Monday at this time.
