A Bit Of Rock Removal In Store For Caltrans On Hwy 4 ~ Pictures From Wagner Family

Bear Valley, CA....In a couple of weeks Caltrans crews will start their work on opening the mountain passes for another summer season. On Ebbetts Pass they will need more than a snow blower as the pictures below from the Wagner Family from yesterday. They were snowmobiling in the high country and these pictures were taken just past Cadillac Curve.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Today ushers in another beautiful day in the High Sierra. The high today should come in right around 51F and coupled with ENE winds from 5-1mph it should be a stellar day for the Dodov Slopestyle Event! Sunny weather will be around until Sunday at which time we look to pick up a another shot o' snow into Tuesday. Accumulations are still out for the coming system but Sunday morning we should have better info......... Come on up to Bear Valley and enjoy the ride! All weather Highway 4 is the easiest drive to any resort on the West slope! We're about "Pure Mtn Fun" so come check us out.

Bear Valley, CA...Another visit by winter for the western slope of the Northern Sierra Nevada Today Rain at lower elevations...and rain and snow at higher elevations. Breezy. Highs 30 to 45 higher elevations...42 to 52 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...3 to 6 inches higher elevations. Snow level 7000 feet decreasing to 5500 feet in the afternoon. Prevailing south winds 5 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 45 mph. Over ridges...prevailing southwest winds 20 to 40 mph.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! It's the first day of Spring and well.......mixed precipitation is expected over the next few days. With the warm front of the current system making it's way over Central Cal things will feel a bit warm today with the expected high of 48F and winds out of the East from 7-24mph. Rain is slated to fall later today and tonight before a cool down allows some snow to fall Monday afternoon/night. We could pick up 3-5 " by Tuesday morning so this could be the last snowfall we see for a week or so, then the return of dominant High pressure ridging and clear warming weather into the first week of April. Come on up to Bear Valley and enjoy the ride! All weather Highway 4 is the easiest drive to any resort on the West slope! We're about "Pure Mtn Fun" so come check us out.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 3" of new overnight and 9" for the last 24hrs!!!!! Today we could see another inch of new snow as the first wave passes thru. Todays high will hover around the mid to low 30's and SSW winds from 8-24mph. Tonight we could see another 5-9" then Sunday brings in another 8-12" and Sunday night again delivers another 8-12" with 1-3" additional on Monday and then clearing with a dominant High pressure ridge until the end of the month. It's going to be an epic pow riding weekend so I suggest you get on up to Bear Valley and check out the goods of winter!! Come on up and experience the easiest drive to any resort on the west slope, all weather Highway 4, always open, easy and fun! Don't forget about our "Pure Mtn Fun" attitude because it's local, real and a whole lotta "PMF".

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Snowing at 5am as the current storm system makes it's way over California. Looks like snow should start falling sometime in the next few hours. We expect 4-8" of new snow today during the day and another 1-3" tonight. winds will be around 22-40mph today with an expected high of 39F. During the day on Saturday it looks to be snow showery during the day and then 3-7" could fall Saturday night with another 5-9" during the day Sunday and another 9-13" Sunday night before things start to settle down. It's going to be an epic pow riding weekend so I suggest you get on up to Bear Valley and check out the goods of winter!! Saturday Cloudy with a chance of rain and snow. Highs 28 to 42 higher elevations...38 to 50 lower elevations. No snow accumulation lower elevations...3 to 5 inches higher elevations. Minor Injuries In Camp Connell Accident

Camp Connell, CA...A 28 year old Santa Cruz man was driving his Toyota eastbound on Highway 4 west of Black Springs Road at 25 mph. A Granite Bay man was driving Honda westbound on Highway 4 approaching the Toyota's location at 25-30 miles per hour.
