Slopestyle At Bear Valley This Weekend!

Bear Valley, CA...Slopestyle Competition on THIS WEEKEND! March 9th at 11am. Registration is between 8-10am in the sunroom. Only $10 for ALL participants. Practice is from 9-10:30am. Did real good? Calaveras County Search & Rescue is Looking for You!!

Calaveras, CA...The Calaveras County Search and Rescue (CCSAR) team needs volunteers in the field or as support, to be able to better serve the community. The team presently has about 30 active members consisting of men and women ranging in age from 18 to folks in their 70s. These folks come from all walks of life - but the common denominator is that all have a love of the outdoors and enjoy helping people. Medical aid, navigation, search, and rope and river rescue skills are useful but not required of a new volunteer. CCSAR has an extensive training program for both obtaining and maintaining the predetermined level of competency in all necessary disciplines of SAR...

40th ANNUAL BJORNLOPPET XC SKI RACE WEEKEND AND CALIFORNIA SENIOR WINTER GAMES JOIN FORCES IN MARCH!

Bear Valley Cross Country will host the 40th Annual Bjornloppet XC Ski Race and Festival on March 9th and March 10th, 2012. This is one of the longest running ski races in the west and it is open to all ages.  In addition, the California Senior Winter Games (CSWG) will be held the same weekend in Bear Valley. Bjornloppet racers ages 50 and up will automatically have their Bjornloppet race times entered in the CSWG Nordic Race Results for the California Senior Winter Games gold, silver and bronze medals...

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People………….A 30% chance of snow today after 4pm. Snow levels will be around 8400′ with less than an inch expected with daytime temps close to 50F. Winds will be out of the South southwest from 7-20mph. Tuesday still looks to be on track for the next system. Starting out at around 4500′, Tuesday/Wednesdays storm should bring us between 6-12″ of new snow and as that system passes the snow levels should drop to around 2500-3000′………..more on that as next week approaches. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People!….. Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. West southwest wind 3 to 6 mph. A gradual Warming trend is expected this week. The MJO has come and gone over the last week and pretty much fell flat on it’s face for helping to amplify moisture/snowfall..still not much of anything as far as precipitation/snowfall until the end of the first week of March……………stay tuned, have a great day!
