North Mountain Fire Update for Monday, June 30, 2008....Fire Status: Active;
Cause: Lightning Location: Stanislaus National Forest, Groveland Ranger District; Acres Burned: 2,697; Percent Contained:35%; Full Containment Expected: No Estimate; Date Started: 6/21/08; Resources: 11 hand crews, 27 engines, 2 dozers, 7 water tenders, 4 helicopters, air tankers on order; Personnel Assigned: 480; Injuries: 9. CAL Fire States Cause of 28 Mile Road Fire Under Investigation |

Stanislaus County, CA....CAL Fire is stating the fire that burned a vehicle and 8.2 acres of vegetation at 28 Mile Road and Sonora Road is under investigation. There were no injuries reported. Estimated dollar damages are $1400 or the vegetation. No dollar damage listed for the vehicle. Full CAL Fire report enclosed....

Two More Small Vegetation Fires Reported in Tuolumne County Over the Weekend |

Tuoulumne County, CA....CAL Fire reported two small vegetation fires in Tuolumne County over the weekend. The first was at 13254 Mono Way in Sonora on June 27th. Cause of fire was arson. It burned a 50' x 50' spot of vegetation. No injuries. The 2nd fire was at South Lake Tulloch Campground on June 29th. Cause is undetermined. 1 acre of vegetation was burned. CAL Fire reports enclosed....

Electrical Power Cause of Structure Fire in Wilseyville on Sunday |

Wilseyville, CA....CAL Fire states electrical power was the cause of a garage fire that occurred at 20496 Hwy 26 in Wilseyville on Sunday morning. There were no injuries. Damages were to a garage. Estimated dollar damage is $50,000. See full CAL Fire Report enclosed....

FIRE NEWS....Two Fires Burning in the Stanislaus National Forest with Continuing Updates As Needed (Update as of 6:35pm) |

There is currently a fire burning in the Cabbage Patch area in the Stanislaus National Forest. No acreage estimates as of yet. Crews are in bound. Updates to follow. Update #1...According to CAL Fire, there are two fires burning now, this second fire is in the Thompson area also in the Stanislaus National Forest. No acreage estimates on either as of yet. Crews are in bound. Update #2....We just spoke with USFS dispatch and the second fire ended up just being smoke. The primary incident is actually in the fairly remote Mattley Meadow area. There are numerous assets on the fire including air tankers and ground crews. They have slowed the spread and at last estimate it is only an acre or so. Let's hope they can keep it from spreading. USFS dispatch did express some concern that if the fire made it to the Mokelumne River Drainage, it would have potential to grow. Updates will follow as needed and hopefully they can keep it pinned down...

A Fire Weather Watch is in effect For This Weekend.....CAL Fire Tuolumne/Calaveras Units Preparing |

Calaveras and Tuolumne County, CA....A FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for this weekend, Friday through Sunday, as a weather system moves through the area from the southwest. Possibility exists for thunderstorms. Subtropical air will move into the area bringing instability, winds and increased chances of thunderstorms and lightning. According to CAL Fire Tuolumne Calaveras Units, our areas are preparing for this Saturday and Sunday due to predicted Lighting storms. Please everyone be careful and use extra caution.

Stanislaus County, CA.....A vegetation is being reported at 28 Mile Road and Sonora Road. Calaveras and Tolumnue units are in route. At this time the fire is reported to be 8 acres in size. Engines 4462, 623, 4471, 4458, 4473, 593, 4474, 4442, 4445, and all Columbia air craft are heading to the fire now! UPDATE 1: The fire is now contained.
