High Holy Days Coming Up on October 7th |

The Mother Lode Jewish Community has set plans for the upcoming High Holy Days. We will be holding a Kol Nidre service on the evening of Friday, October 7th at the Orman home in Murphys. The service will be preceded by a potluck dinner at 4:45PM before we start our fast. The Kol Nidre Service will begin at 6PM....

First Congregational Church to Honor 9/11 |

On Sunday, September 11, during and after the 10 a.m. worship service, the First Congregational Church of Murphys will focus on our response as a faith community to the tenth anniversary of the attacks on 9/11/01. While acknowledging the impact of that event, we also will celebrate three new beginnings: our Rally Day, which marks the start of another Sunday School year; our Choir returning from its summer break; and the commissioning of the Pastor Search Committee.....

I am so excited about this year's Women of Faith conference that will be held on October 14th and 15th at Arco Arena in Sacramento! This year's theme is "Over the Top" which perfectly describes God's love for us! The speakers "Women of Faith" has lined up for us are also over the top - Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Sandi Patty, Lisa Whelchel ("Blair" from "Facts of Life" show), Comedian Nicole Johnson, motivational speaker Andy Andrews and musicians Mandisa and Selah. ....

San Andreas Community Covenant Church and Grace Hills Bible Church of Angels Camp will sponsor a Family Night for all ages starting June 16. The program, called Major League Bible, will feature a baseball themed skit, baseball games and activities around the study of the Major and Minor Prophets. Each week, the audience will be entertained by a four man skit entitled “Bible Tonight” and will feature guest appearances by baseball enthusiasts and actors representing each prophet.
