Local Firefighters Participate in Large Extrication Drill~By Hanna Heath

Angels Camp, CA… Last Saturday over sixty firefighters from various departments in Calaveras County participated in a large scale extrication drill. Departments included: Angels City Fire, Altaville-Melones Fire, Copper Fire, Central Fire, Murphys Fire, Ebbetts Pass Fire, and Foothill Fire. The all day training was held at the Angels City Fire station 2. During this training firefighters and emergency personnel practiced "MCI" Multi Casualty Incident training....

There is a Single Vehicle Roll Over Vehicle major injury accident at Hwy 49 near the Hwy 4 Intersection that is causing a back up of traffic on Hwy 49 in Angels camp. Avoid the area if possible as traffic is very slow through downtown Angels. The driver was taken via ambulance to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital with major injuries, possible head trauma...

Angels Camp, C.A… Angels Camp City Council members selected Jack Boeding to replace Norm Price as the council’s newest member during its bi-monthly meeting Tuesday, Feb. 5. More than 30 people attended the 6 p.m. meeting at the Utica Power Authority building in Angels Camp just down the street from the Angels Camp Fire House, the council’s usual meeting location....

Angels Camp City Council Will Appoint New Council Member at Tuesdays Meeting

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council is back in action on Tuesday February 5th at the Utica Power Authority located at 1168 Booster Way in Angels Camp. They will begin the meeting at 4:30pm with City Council Interviews then appointing a City Council Member during the regular meeting. The regular meeting will begin at 6pm. Some of the agenda items are there will be a Public Hearing regarding the Community Development Block Program Final Grantee Performance Reports. The Council will approve the final CDBG report. Tim McSorley will discuss funding the the Angels Camp S.E. Bypass; They will looking for three Museum Commissioners. Calaveras County Junior Livestock Boosters Raise Over $12,000 at their 25th Annual Dinner on Saturday Eve~By Hanna Heath

Angels Camp, CA….Last night the Calaveras County Junior Livestock Boosters held their 25th annual dinner dance at the Calaveras County Fair Grounds in Angels Camp. The boosters are a non-profit organization whose main objective is to help support Calaveras County Fair participant who sell an animal at the Fair’s auction. Their mission, set forth in our by-laws, is to boost the price of animals sold through the auction that, we determine, did not bring at least enough to break even. We do this so that each entry has the ability to participate in what, we feel, is a valuable learning experience....
