| The Calaveras Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that the Calaveras Visitors Center is the latest Angels Camp venue to offer visitors free wireless internet access. Now visitors can get online and check reservations or their e-mail right at the Visitors Center whether on the porch or inside while perusing the gift shop. “We realize it is important for many visitors to have access to the internet when they’re away from home and it’s not always easy to find in our rural communities. This was a logical step in offering our visitors more services they expect when they travel,” stated Lisa Mayo, Executive Director of the Calaveras Visitors Bureau.... |

On 04-29-10 the Angels Camp Police Department issued a press release detailing a vehicle pursuit and subsequent arrests of the driver of the vehicle and a passenger that was in the vehicle. The passenger in the vehicle was erroneously named as Kristopher R. Frontella. On 04-30-10, at approximately 8:30 AM, the police department received a telephone call from Kristopher R. Frontella, who explained that his brother provided false identification information to police....

Frogtown, CA...Media Night for those of us in the local media who cover The Calaveras County Faire & Frog Jumping Jubilee is the true start of Fair Season. It was an honor to be invited to attend this celebration gala of all things Frog Jump related. There were awards to sponsors, fair board members, friends of the fair and other community members who keep the local institution running year after year. It is also an opportunity for all of the Saddle Queen & Miss Calaveras contestants to display their public speaking skills and poise. Mascots were featured, Mark Twain's likeness took various forms and more...

Angels Camp, CA...On 04-29-10, at approximately 1:30 AM, an officer from the Angels Camp Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction, near the intersection of SR 49 and Murphys Grade Road. The driver failed to stop for police, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated...

Angels Camp, CA....The City of Angels Camp City Council will meet on Tuesday May 4th, 2010. The meeting will call to order at 4:30pm and immediately adjourn to Closed Sessions to perform Performance Evaluations; Public Employment for City Administrator and Chief of Police. They will then reconvene to their Regular Meeting at 6pm. The Angels Camp Police Department will accept a private donation of $22,185.37; A presentation on Teens Against Tobacco; Approve Resolution certifying the Sanitary Sewer Management Plan is complete; The Bret Harte High School new construction of Aquatic Center Water and Sewer connection fees and more. Frogtown, CA...If you are a child or a parent of one the place to be on Saturday was Frogtown for the Annual Children's Fair. Frogtown was hopping with activities for the youngsters and adults alike. There was Juggling, Food, Exhibits, Entertainment, Car Seat Safety Check Ups, Fire Trucks, Police Exhibits, Petting Zoos, Face Painting, Gardening and of course more food....
