Angels Camp, C.A….Although most agreed that young people in the Angels Camp and surrounding areas would like more job opportunities “and things to do,” the teens interviewed for this article had mixed reactions when asked if they wanted a Wal-Mart in the city….

Angels Camp City Council to Meet Tuesday Eve at The Bret Harte Theater |

| Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council will meet on Tuesday February 19th at the Bret Harte Theater in Angels Camp. They will start the meeting with Planning Commission interviews at 5:30pm then move to their regular meeting at 6pm. The Mark Twain Elementary School students will be reading their "Kindness Hero" essays; There will be an Appeal on a Tentative Parcel Map; The Council will approve Proposition 1B for local streets and roads funding plan; They will also be appointing the new Planning Commissioner. There are two applicants: Bob Menary and Henry Petithomme. Mr. Menary has lived in Angels camp for 2 years. Mr. Petithomme grew up in Angels Camp. Angels Camp, CA….On February 23rd , 2008 local firefighters from the Angels Camp Fire Department will be participating in the national “Fill the Boot for Burns” fundraiser. Firefighters will be holding their boots at the intersection of Murphys Grade and Main Street in Angels Camp from 9:00am-3:00pm. This heroic event helps raise money to support burn victims and burn prevention....

Angels Camp, CA.... It’s Follies Time! Tickets are now available for the fourth annual Calaveras Follies, slated for Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Mark Twain Hall, Frogtown, Angels Camp. Well-known community members will again take the stage, impersonating celebrities and lip-synching popular songs, in a show that gets more ambitious and surprising every year. The Calaveras Follies is the largest annual fundraiser for the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program and is presented by Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program volunteers, Frogtown and Murphys Creek Theatre. Early ticket buyers sit closer to the stage. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased through Frogtown at (209) 736-2561; credit cards are accepted.....
