Angels Theatre Marquee Damaged

Angels Camp, CA...Last week a tall vehicle such as a truck or motorhome go a bit too close the gorgeous, art deco neon of Angels Theatres that anchor the downtown business district. We are awaiting additional information from the Angels Camp Police Department on details. Theatre Manager Jeff Olson has always taken great pride in the marquee that has required many repairs to keep it shining bright. It looks like another repair is ahead of them...

June Dolores (Shone) O’Meara 1923 - 2013

Angels Camp, CA... Retired postal worker. June Dolores (Shone) O’Meara died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2013, at the home of her son, Stephen O’Meara. She was 90. She was born in San Francisco and grew up in both Florida and California as the daughter in a Navy military family. She graduated from high school in Florida and attended college in Jacksonville, Fla., before heading west....

New Melones Fishing Report ~from Glory Hole Sports

Angels Camp, CA...Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,053,301 acre-feet of water. The lake level dropped one foot this week, and is currently at 950 ft. above sea level and 136 ft. from full. The water temperature will be cooling a bit but each week until the lake turns over. The lake is still a fairly warm 74-78 degrees...


13-year old Patrick Newt caught 4 nice rainbows while trolling a Glory Hole Sports tandem spoon rig near the spillway.


The Glory Hole Sports Big Fish of the Week Contest goes to George Lindsey of Murphys. He caught and nice limit of rainbow trout while trolling Needlefish spoons on the main lake. His biggest weighed 2-pounds, 5-ounces.

So here is a look at where the reforms stand, and what they potentially offer you. Here is how the health care exchanges will operate. According to healthcare.gov, open enrollment in the new health insurance exchanges is set to start on October 1; the open enrollment window for 2014 closes next March 31. Coverage you purchase via these exchanges becomes effective as soon as January 1, 2014. The federal government refers collectively to the 51 exchanges (one for each state and one for the District of Columbia) as the Health Insurance Marketplace. The federal government is running 34 of the 51 exchanges; others will be run by the respective state governments.1,2

For Today...Rain showers before 5pm, then rain, possibly mixed with snow showers. Temperature rising to near 50 by 11am, then falling to around 43 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a southwest wind 18 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected. Tonight Rain and snow showers likely, becoming all rain showers after 8pm, then gradually ending. Snow level 7900 feet. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind 7 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected...

Angels Camp, CA...A dinner and entertainment fundraiser will be held for the wife and two daughters of Stephen Lee Olmsted of Sonora who passed away on Sunday, August 25th after a mountain biking accident in Mammoth on August 24th. Steve is survived by his wife, Sarah Olmsted (Smith) - who grew up in Arnold and attended Hazel Fischer Elementary and Bret Harte High School. They have two beautiful daughters Estella (5) and Aurora (3). Funds will be raised to help Sarah and her daughters through this difficult time...
