Angels Camp, CA...If you are interested in or curious about bonsai trees, come to the Calaveras Bonsai Club’s next monthly meeting on Oct. 5 at 10:00 am in Utica Park, located on Highway 49/Main Street in Angels Camp. As part of the meeting, a free demonstration on shohin bonsai will be presented by Dan Balsley, club president. Members will also be available to provide guests with information on this form of living art....

San Andreas, CA...There are new dogs at the shelter! Elizabeth is a (approximatley) 6 year old Doxie mix. Shots on intake & up to date on rabies. She is very affectionate but, may be a little hyper for small children. Dawn is a labrador mix about 2 years old. Dawn has not had much training. She is looking for an active person or family who has time for training and activities that include her...

New Melones Fishing Report ~ from Glory Hole Sports |

Angels Camp, CA....Fishing Report: Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,060,841 acre-feet of water. The lake level dropped one foot this week, and is currently at 951 ft. above sea level and 135 ft. from full. The water temperature is cooling a bit but still a fairly warm 76-80 degrees. The lake is stained with mud lines forming near the shore in the afternoon....
The Glory Hole Sports Big Fish of the Week Contest goes to Jim and Allen Munroe of Jackson. They caught a nice limit of rainbows on an orange hoochie trolled behind a Seps dodger. Their biggest weighed 1-pound, 6-ounces.

Calaveras Community Foundation Grant Helps Calaveras Senior Center |

| San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras Senior Center has been the grateful recipient of the Calaveras Community Foundation again this year. CCF awarded the Senior Center over $5,000 to install new energy efficient window blinds and an Entertainment Center which will allow more activities for our senior population. The blinds should reduce our heating and cooling bills . Hopefully the Entertainment Center will encourage participation in some action exercise and movie watching on a monthly basis... |

Angels Camp, CA...Please join us for our annual meeting! We need and want your input into the direction of the league. We are in need of board members ( 2-3 positions) for the 2014 season. Particularly, parents of children that will be in Tee Ball and Machine Pitch. Board members, however, do not have to have children in the program. Just a love of baseball!
