Adoption Center hours are Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. We will have approximately 8 kitties available to meet you in Angels Camp this week! Murphys, CA...The Murphys 4-H Club will be holding their annual Christmas tree lot, from November 29th through December 21st. The times are Monday - Friday from 4 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday - Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm. There will also be a bake sale at the event on December 7th from 9 am to 4 pm. Angels Camp, CA....Focusing on two newly developed initiatives: Aging in Place for Seniors and Support for Learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) has awarded nine grants for 2013 amounting to over $37,000. CCF was very pleased to receive 25 applications for grants to implement the above initiatives. With an increased upper grant limit of $10,000, much interest in the initiatives was generated and applicants pulled out the stops to design and submit excellent projects for funding....

San Andreas, CA....Chance: Looking for someone with a big gentle heart who would like to give Chance a better life than the scary one he's had so far. He's a frightened, approximately one year old brown & white Boxer mix boy who was likely abused and is now looking for his own special person to love and trust. He's a little hand shy and in need of some confidence building. He weighs 55-56 pounds, received shots when he arrived at the shelter, but will need a rabies shot, is already neutered (so he can go home with you TODAY). He will chase the ball and then doesn't know what comes next. He wants to play with the other dogs as well as his handler and gives great kisses. Kindness will be repaid with a lifetime of devotion. Petey: Petey is a young shetland sheep dog/Parsons terrier mix, or so we think. He was a stray, so we do not know much about his past but, he is a doll, weighs 12 pounds, is around 6 months old and loves EVERYONE! Since he is so young he will most likely need to be potty trained and definitely leash trained but, he is working on both. Petey did well on all of the temperament testing, especially the important food test, which he passed with flying colors. He has already been neutered, so can go home with you today...
