Junior Fair Board Applications Now Available

Frogtown, USA...Join a select group of young men and women who are ambassadors of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 16-19. As part of the leadership team, Junior Fair Board members work in all areas of the Jubilee including the internationally known Frog Jump. In order to participate in the Junior Fair Board, young people must be a junior or senior and attend a Calaveras County High School. Underclassmen who have served in the past may apply. Well rounded students with a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average are encouraged to apply. An appreciation for the community and a passion for the event are a plus. Applicants must attend one pre-fair meeting and commit to working 2 days during the Calaveras County Fair....

Angels Camp, CA...Walt Markus and his team at Gateway Press in Murphys were the winners of the "Business of the Year" award at tonight's Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner. For 28 years they have been providing a wide range if business graphics and printed products. This a well deserved honor for this well run and fixture of the community. State Senator Tom Berryhill was on hand to present the honor. 2012 was a great year for the Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and tonight was their 89th Annual Dinner where the new officers, directors, and business of the year are announced....

Destination Angels Camp Launches Community Advisory Council. 16 Local Companies Provide Major Financial Support

Angels Camp, CA...Destination Angels Camp Development Corporation formally launched its Community Advisory Council at an inaugural luncheon held Friday, January 25, at Camps Restaurant in Greenhorn Creek and sponsored by the resort’s owner and developer, Fritz Grupe. The Advisory Council is made up of companies and organizations that have agreed to sponsor Destination Angels Camp’s activities with a minimum of $1,000 a year for three years. In addition, members of the City Council, City Government, Destination Angels Camp’s executive committee, and potential sponsors joined the luncheon....

Angels Camp, CA...New Melones Report: Water Conditions: New Melones Lake is currently holding 1,633,191 acre-feet of water. The lake level rose one foot this week, and is currently at 1017 ft. above sea level and 72 ft. from full. Water temperature has cooled and is 48-52 degrees. The lake is clear, to slightly stained with some debris floating on the surface. The lake has turned over....

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp Police Department would like to remind residents and business owners of some of the services that are available that we provide. The police department has had a “Vacation House Check” program in place for some time, where residents that are on vacation can fill out a “Security Check” request form, for increased patrols of their residences while they are gone.
