Angels Camp, CA...Soroptimist International of Calaveras County is preparing for their 16th Annual Teddy Bear Tea to be held at Frog Town in Angels Camp Sunday, November 3, 2013. The traditional holiday affair brings together a magical day for children and adults still young at heart. Children will enjoy a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, balloon animals from Krinkles the Clown, pictures with costumed ballerinas & the giant Teddy Bear, face painting, and holiday crafts. This year two dance groups will perform tap, hip hop, and ballet numbers as attendees enjoy a beautifully decorated ballroom and a scrumptious formal tea prepared by A Catered Affair based in Angels Camp....

Angels Camp, CA...New Melones Reservoir is open. We just recieved word from the Bureau of Reclamation that they have unlocked the gates to the Tuttletown and the Glory Hole recreation areas. It has been a long few weeks of waiting. It will be nice to be able to use and enjoy our lake again...

San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas will be hosting the “7th Annual Teddy Bear Clinic” on the mornings of October 22nd, 23rd and 24th. Approximately 470 kindergartners, their teachers and parent chaperones will have the opportunity to tour most areas of the hospital in order to learn about the hospital departments, all while improving their comfort level within a hospital setting ..

| Angels Camp, CA...The public is invited to attend a presentation of The FEMA Scheme by David Tunno, the guest speaker at the Calaveras County Republican Party meeting on November 5 at 6:00pm in the Fireside Room, 711 McCauley Rd., Greenhorn Creek Resort, Angels Camp. The FEMA Scheme was the first of two reports by David Tunno on the effects of FEMA’s flood map designations in Calaveras County and the resulting forced flood insurance policies. The speaker will explain, in his view, why and how FEMA added thousands of parcels to the flood map in Calaveras County, as part of a nationwide effort, and the effects of those designations on property owners.... |
