Angels Camp, CA....Hundreds of attendees packed the audience at Frogtown Saturday evening for the 2008 Annual Calaveras Follies show! This annual event was presented by the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program Volunteers, Frogtown and Murphys Creek Theatre. This is an outrageously hilarious musical review with local "Community Celebrities" as the Stars! It is always a kick every year! This year's event almost brought the audience to tears there was so much laughter. The evening started with Appetizers at 6:30pm with Showtime at 7:30pm, followed by the Frog Oscar Awards. There was also a raffle and Cast Party to enjoy. Program Director, Kathryn Eustis, always puts on this fantastic fundraiser with her hard work and dedication to our youth. The Calaveras Follies is the major fundraiser for the Calaveras Youth....

Angels Camp, CA….This afternoon the Annual Volunteer Firefighter Academy held training at Angels Camp Fire Department Station 2. The training agenda included hose evolutions, hose lays, portable water sources, pumps and large diameter hose. Bill Fullerton, coordinator of the fire academy stated, “The academy gives volunteer firefighters the basic firefighter training and techniques.” ……..

Angels Camp, CA….This afternoon, the Angels Camp Gun Club hosted their Annual Northern California (SCTP) Scholastic Clay Target Program Tournament. The Scholastic Trapshooting Program is a youth development program focused on providing young people with a positive experience in the sport of trapshooting. It is an opportunity for young people to participate in a supervised shooting sports program that emphasizes safety and skill development in clay target shooting…..

| Angels Camp, CA....During the varisity girls softball game against the Summerville Bears, the girls were off the a rough start but fllowed through with great spirt to the end. During the top of the 3rd inning the girls were down 0-3, but showed their excelet performace during the top of the 4th and scorred two runs....... |

Angels Camp, CA...The City of Angels City Council will meet on Tuesday, April 15th at 6pm. They will be discussing Relay for Life 2008; A fairgrounds update; Tyler Summersett from the CCOG will lead a Public Hearing regarding Unmet Transit needs; Tim McSorley also of the CCOG, will give a Hwy 4 Bypass update; Mary Kelly will discuss the Annual Youth Parade; and there will be a 2008 Rehabilitation project possible award. Search Warrant Leads To Indoor Marijuana Grow |

Angels Camp, CA...On 4/10/08 a search warrant was served at a residence in the 1200 block of S Summit Rd, Angels Camp, to investigate a possible indoor marijuana grow. A search was conducted by members of the Calaveras County Narcotic Enforcement Unit. A make shift room containing 66 marijuana plants in various stages of production was located. The marijuana was seized, as well as, 11 high voltage lights used to grow....

Angels Camp, CA...The path of the new Angels Camp Bypass is now clearly visible along most portions of the route. Heavy equipment has been moving trees and debris, crews have been setting fences, temporary construction sheds and offices are coming to life....

Welcome Readers....Ah, the colors of spring! The trees are breath-taking with their pink, white and salmon colored buds bursting beneath the warm sunlight. Everywhere you look there are bright yellows daffodils, creamy white narcissus, tulips in an assortment of solid colors and variegated varieties as well. The green hills and pastures are full of life inviting us to roll down them or lay among the fresh prickly grass. How could this not energize us to want to begin our season’s planting.....
