Hey Ladies.....In The Mood For a Dress Swap?

The Calaveras County Fairgrounds will be hosting a "Dress Swap" March 14 from 1p.m.- 5 p.m. We are encouraging women and high school girls to bring their lonely formal wear that is hanging in their closet to the Fairgrounds. There are four options, you can buy, sell, donate or swap. It is our hope to have great turnout. It is an opportunity to get a dress for prom or even the Miss Calaveras competition or those of us that are just looking for a cocktail dress or bridal .....

Angels Camp Resident Arrested on Multiple Counts~Press Release by Angels Camp Police Department

Angels Camp, CA....On Saturday, 01-23-10, at approximately 9:35 P.M., an Angels Camp Police Officer was dispatched to a report of a drunk driver. The original reporting party was traveling West on SR 4 toward Angels Camp, when she saw a vehicle being driven erratically. She called 911 on her cell phone and provided the vehicle license plate and related information to C.H.P. dispatchers. That information was eventually relayed to Angels Camp Police, but not before the driver of the suspect vehicle stopped in the downtown area .....

Angels Camp, CA....Applications to enter and compete in the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant are now available at the Fairgrounds administration office, Bret Harte High School and Calaveras High School. The program seeks versatile young women who are intelligent, articulate, charming, talented, sincere and healthy in mind and body with warm, outgoing personalities. Miss Calaveras serves as a roll model for young women in our community....

Angels CA....Join a select group of young men and women who are ambassadors of the Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee, May 13-16. As part of the leadership team, Junior Fair Board members work in all areas of the Jubilee including the internationally known Frog Jump. In order to participate in the Junior Fair Board, young people must be a junior or senior and attend a Calaveras County High School. Underclassmen who have served in the past may apply. Well rounded students with a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average are encouraged to apply. An appreciation for the .....

Update....Detectives from the San Diego Police department working with Angels Camp Police have located Marita Anttila, age 44 of Angels Camp. Anttila was last seen in San Diego on 1-22-10 at the Bahia Resort hotel where she was attending a conference. Acting on information provided by Anttila’s bank a Detective with SDPD began checking hotels in the downtown area of San Diego. Anttila was located at approximately 12:20 in good health. Her family has been notified and is enroute to the area.

The Angels Camp Police Department is investigating a missing person, Marita Anttila, age 44 of Angels Camp. Anttila was last seen in San Diego on 1-22-10 at the Bahia Resort hotel where she was attending a conference. Anttila is described as a white female, 5-07, 136 lbs with green eyes and red hair. She has a scar above her left ear. Anttila is prone to violent seizures which can result in memory loss. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at (209) 736-2567.

Kiwis are so plentiful this time of the year. Most of us don’t know how to use them. We usually cut the kiwi in half and eat the centers with a spoon. Kiwis are great atop a lemon tart or along side fresh strawberries on a pavlova, which is a meringue shell filled with whipped cream and assorted berries. For those of you that enjoy adventurous easting how does a fresh kiwi salsa sounds with grilled fish or poultry? Fruit salsas are very flavorful. When preparing them make sure to decide on the texture you want and the color of the fruit you are using. Kiwis add a nice crunchy texture. When papayas are not in season you can substitute an avocado for this fruit. This salsa has a very refreshing and it has a zesty taste!...
