Angels Camp, CA...Great News for all those frozen dessert fans in the area! The Scott family has been hard at work on their new business and they will be opening a few days ahead of schedule. They will be opening this Friday, February 5th at 3pm!! ScottsYogurtFactory, owned and operated by Greg Scott and family will open next to Subway in the Frogtown Shopping Center in Angels Camp. For Opening Day Scotts Yogurt Factory will be supporting Bret Harte from day 1. We are offering that if you plan to attend the Basketball game tonight you receive a coupon and then come in after the game we will donate 10% of their purchase to The Bret Harte sports program! Opening Day Flavors Have Been Announced!

Kiwis are so plentiful this time of the year. Most of us don’t know how to use them. We usually cut the kiwi in half and eat the centers with a spoon. Kiwis are great atop a lemon tart or along side fresh strawberries on a pavlova, which is a meringue shell filled with whipped cream and assorted berries. For those of you that enjoy adventurous easting how does a fresh kiwi salsa sounds with grilled fish or poultry? Fruit salsas are very flavorful. When preparing them make sure to decide on the texture you want and the color of the fruit you are using. Kiwis add a nice crunchy texture. When papayas are not in season you can substitute an avocado for this fruit. This salsa has a very refreshing and it has a zesty taste!...

Help Is On The Way...for Little League Field |

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras American Little League field was vandalized last weekend. Someone made a mess of things by spinning doughnuts that left ruts in not only the newly planted grass they also damaged some of the underground sprinkler systems as well. Volunteers had recently made upgrades to the field with countless hours installing a new sprinkler system and reseeding the field to get it ready for the upcoming season.

Gold River, CA - Congressman Dan Lungren (R-CA) will hold his second live Town Hall of the year in Calaveras County at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Feb. 13 at Mark Twain Hall, at the fairgrounds in Angels Camp. "Congressman Dan Lungren serves as Ranking Member on the House Administration Committee in addition to serving on the Judiciary and Homeland Security committees."

Frogtown, CA...The Friends of the Fair are at it again with a Wiskerino Dinner & Dance that will be held on May 1st at Frogtown. There are lots of different categories including...Full Beard, Mustache, Most Effort for Least Results, Couples, Family, Man and Woman. So let it all go and have some fun on May 1st....

Angels Camp, CA....Just a reminder, we are entering our regular tee time season beginning March 1, 2010. On February 15, 2010, tee time reservations may be made 2 weeks in advance for before 10AM, and thirty days in advance for times proceeding 10AM.
